Considering what's on offer as an alternative to Trump.
I would say, he's America's 'only' choice.
I personally reckon he doesn't want a 3rd term.
I think he just puts that out there to both prove, with a sad sigh, that America needs to find someone who is good enough to improve upon the bar that he has raised for America.
I'm sure he would love to hand over the job to someone who can keep the political renaissance going, that he has started.

Personally, I don't think it will happen and without him, America will fall into a doldrum... and the World will go into a World War without him keeping the peace and calling a spade a spade in the name of truth.

Evil will reclaim after Trump and that evil will be chaos, fear, lies and Wars.

I've put it as a preference that it's best if he doesn't get forced into a 3rd term for lack of better options to live up to the bar raised by him.
I think he will indeed be too old for his own good and it will only undermine his legacy of retiring like a champion on top.
