The problem with Rudd is he still controls the labor party.

Albo, shorten are all Rudds faceless men who did his bidding to destroy Gillard.

Have no doubt Rudd might not be the prime minister but Albo is his puppet.

This aside I think the meeting was very positive.

Trump got everything he wanted with access to rare metals for the USA guaranteed and Albo walked out with a toy nuclear submarine.

Win win

I am not so sure that Rudd has the control he might think he has over the Labor Party Dave, but there would definately be some influence there. Personally, I don’t think we got the big win - we are still stuck with billions of dollars for submarines and Trump gets to thumb his nose at China because they now have access to our rare earth bits and pieces.

The big winner of course is Scott Morrison who sits on the board of some US Firms who are going to benefit from AUKUS. He stands to make millions in consultancy. I am not against Australia having nuclear subs, I just think the whole process from procurement, crewing, maintenance and upkeep, basing and eventual disposal has not be thought out. There are huge cost issues that haven’t even been thought of yet
