What a truly repugnant Republican.

In May 2023, a grand jury in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York indicted Santos on 13 criminal charges: seven counts of wire fraud, three counts of money laundering, one count of theft of public funds, and two counts of making materially false statements to the House of Representatives. Prosecutors accused Santos of "three distinct schemes": fraudulent solicitation of political contributions, unemployment benefits fraud, and making false statements on the financial disclosure reports he submitted to the House of Representatives.

On August 19, 2024, Santos pleaded guilty to wire fraud and aggravated identity theft. He also admitted to committing the other crimes with which he was charged in the superseding indictment. "I accept full responsibility for my actions", he told the judge. "I allowed my ambition to cloud my judgment, leading me to make decisions that were unethical and... guilty."

It had to happen, Brian. Yes, I know presidents normally save the pardon power to grant clemency to those who have served their time, learned their lesson and showed sincere remorse, but these are exceptional times, no?

The leftards are out there sowing hatred and division at every turn, it's deplorable.

Apart from unity, the big fella prizes honour and integrity above all. It's just the kind of man he is.

Quote:
"At least Santos had the Courage, Conviction, and Intelligence to ALWAYS VOTE REPUBLICAN!

Courage, conviction and intelligence. If anyone deserves to get out of jail, it's George. The way the left treated the man is appalling.

Besides, everybody deserves a second chance, as Mr Trump has continually pointed out. Forgiveness is the key message of his faith.

So, let's hope George goes back to Congress and puts this sordid mess behind him. America needs more politicians with courage and conviction. Forgive and forget, no?

I do feel it's time the nation came together to heal.

You?

Yes, but people say all sorts of things in the heat of the moment, Greggery. I think you'll find George takes this statement back.

I think you'll find he was completely INNOCENT OF ALL CHARGES AND HAS NOTHING TO APOLOGIZE FOR!

Look, let's move on, okay? The only people who should be apologizing here are the left, who drummed up such a ridiculous case against this honourable young man, who always had the courage to vote Republican.

I trust this puts the matter to rest.

Or woman.

...

You reckon he'll be walking funny when he leaves prison?

"He reported to the Federal Correctional Institution in Fairton, in southern New Jersey, on July 25 and is being housed in a minimum security prison camp with 50 other inmates."

Oh, I think he'll miss the place.

Like Ghislaine. He wishes her well, Greggery. The big fella's got her federal work farm turned into a luxury resort for elite child sex traffickers.

Handing that naughty birthday letter by DL over to the WSJ was a smart move, no? Can't wait to see it go to court. What's DL going to do - threaten to cancel Fox News?

Come come. George's friends clearly have their own dirt on DL. He wouldn't lift a finger to bail out a guy who always had the courage to vote Republican otherwise.

Besides, George would be a Democrat if there was a buck to be made.

I must say, it'll be a joy to see George parachuted into one of the GOP's newly redistricted seats, forced to sell himself as a gun-toting, red-blooded Alpha. My guess is he plays to the rust belt, finding a new respect for all those marginalized white voters who've done time in the joint.

Unlike George, of course, they don't currently get the right to vote. Still, I'm sure that if the GOP can have a guy like George pardoned, they can find it in their hearts to restrict the vote to black crims only.

They're most principalled that way, no?

Sounds a bit like he put him on a bus but Trump is better known for throwing people under the bus. Could it be the same bus?

This is why Bondi, Patel, Noem, Homan, et al. aren't worried about breaking the law. They know Trump will just pardon them.

Exactly.

Hopefully they'll eventually be charged with breaking state laws.

Perhaps, but we still don't know who's going to stay in the good books, Greggery.

Silly old John Bolton never got a pardon. In fact, as soon as he got the chance, the Don cancelled his security detail too.

Go get him, Iran. Get Pompeo while you're at it. In fact, you can help yourselves to Milley, Sessions, Kelly, Mad Dog and Rex "dumb as a rock" Tillerson. Take the whole goddamn bunch.

The jury's still out on how long Bondi, Patel, Noem, Homan et al will last. We know Pete's on borrowed time.

We will make America great again, no?

I am surprised Patel is still there. His incompetence knows no bounds and his facial expressions at hearings make him look like he realises he's utterly out of his depth, which he honestly is.
