But not any more?

I'm sure they'll recover what is left of the tunnels after the war
to prepare for the next war.

Even when they were able to make rockets, they couldn't do much with them. They were militarily impotent before they started the latest war. They are are living off Israeli handouts.

If you have a look at the details for the Gaza peace plan:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaza_peace_plan#Outline

It basically means the end to Hamas rule in Gaza. The rebuilding effort is tied to a government made up of 'apolitical' local leaders and foreigners, with Donal Trump as the Chairperson. So Trump has basically appointed himself leader of Gaza. But with a sufficiently broad coalition that it might actually work. Hamas members who commit to peaceful co-existence and to decommission their weapons will be given amnesty.

Trump has got Saudis Egypt and Jordan on board with this they have outlawed muslim brotherhood the only problem is Qatar and Turkey who support muslim brotherhood.

Wondering if problems with hamas today are result of Israel wiping out mid and low level leaders and disrupting their commincations on the ground and word hasn't filtered through.

While hamas haven't released all the dead bodies for stage 1 there does appear to be an effort to do this with videos of earthmoving eqipment digging stuff up.

It's just over 1 year since Israel killed Sinwar

Sounds like 'someone' is planning an occupation and nation building exercise. But no-one is willing to actually do it.

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2025-10-19/hamas-hands-over-two-more-israeli-hostages-remains/105908710

The guarantor nations of the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas have been alerted to "credible reports indicating an imminent" violation by the Palestinian terror organisation against the people of Gaza, according to the United States Department of State.

Egypt, Qatar and Turkey are among the guarantor nations tasked with ensuring the ceasefire's success. No further details were disclosed about the potential attack.

US President Donald Trump has previously warned on social media that "if Hamas continues to kill people in Gaza, which was not the deal, we will have no choice but to go in and kill them".

He later clarified he would not send US troops into Gaza after launching the threat against Hamas.

Mr Trump's hostile rhetoric represented a shift after initially expressing nonchalance about Hamas killings, saying they had taken out "a couple of gangs that were very bad".

Israel says ceasefire and aid to resume after airstrikes kill 26 in Gaza

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2025-10-20/israel-says-gaza-ceasefire-and-aid-to-resume/105910598

The Israeli military said on Sunday that a ceasefire in Gaza had resumed after an attack that killed two of its soldiers and prompted a wave of airstrikes that killed 26 people.

Aid into the enclave was set to resume on Monday following US pressure, an Israeli security source said, shortly after Israel announced a halt in supplies in response to what it said was a "blatant" violation by Hamas of the truce.

The Israeli strikes killed at least 26 people in Gaza, including at least one woman and one child, according to local residents and health authorities.

US President Donald Trump's envoy Steve Witkoff and son-in-law Jared Kushner were expected to travel to Israel on Monday, an Israeli official and a US official said.

The Israeli military said it struck Hamas targets across the enclave, including field commanders, gunmen, a tunnel and weapons depots, after militants launched an anti-tank missile and fired on its troops, killing the soldiers.

At least one strike hit a former school sheltering displaced people in the area of Nuseirat, residents said.

The armed wing of Hamas said it remained committed to the ceasefire agreement, was unaware of clashes in Rafah, and had not been in contact with groups there since March.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he had ordered the military to respond forcefully to what he described as Hamas' violations of the ceasefire.

So Auntie doesn't want to say much about the killing of two IDF members?  It's all about the evil Jews bombing 26.  How unusual.

I guess Gazans are just going to have to get rid of Hamas in control - it's a tribe so you won't get rid of it all without ......................... genocide by Gaza against them - same as they are doing to the other tribes.

What do you expect?  Hamas will regroup and re-arm as much as possible - probably by preying on the other tribal groups in Gaza by accusing them, 'executing' them and stealing their weapons etc - every good Arab boy has an AK ..... since nobody else is going to give them arms now..... and when they feel they are safe enough - Hamas will attack again... and again.

Meanwhile their fat honchoes will be hoarding all the 'aid' money given by idiots, and I trust that Mossad will be hunting them all down. ... or at least giving them Chrissie presents of the latest mobile phone technology.

It is not the dying that a-fears most men - it is the manner of the dying..... we all owe a death...... you nearly lost me just over two years ago from heart failure following Covid vaccinations... I am so happy to still be here to see the Counter-Revolution of the REAL people kicking into gear... and all the shibboleths against which I have stood alone for so many years falling one by one....

"A shibboleth is a custom, word, or phrase that distinguishes a particular group of people from others. The term comes from a story in the Hebrew Bible where the Gileadites used the pronunciation of "shibboleth" to identify Ephraimite soldiers who, due to a dialect difference, could not pronounce the "sh" sound and said "sibboleth" "
