Worker, 23, dies after being impaled on NSW Central Coast

A tradie has been killed after being impaled following a horror fall at a worksite on the NSW Central Coast.

A police spokesperson said the 23-year-old man died in hospital after the incident on Thursday morning at East Gosford.

Emergency services were called to Wharf Street about 10.40am after the man fell.

“On arrival, officers attached to Brisbane Water Police District were told the man had been impaled after falling onto (a) reinforcing bar,” the spokesperson said.

“The 23-year-old was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Gosford Hospital where he died.

“Police established a crime scene and have commenced an investigation into the incident.”

SafeWork NSW has been notified and the coroner will receive a report.
