The Victorian Greens have said Labor and the Liberals’ decision to work together to triple the annual lock out period of Albert Park for the Grand Prix is a betrayal of the community.   

The decision will effectively lock out communities, park users and sports clubs from Albert Park for nearly a month each year, as opposed to the usual one week.

Local residents and community groups fought against the extension of the race period, alongside the Greens who opposed the bill from the outset.
