Forensic evidence shows that 18-year-old Israeli hostage Tamir Nimrodi was killed by an Israeli airstrike — not by Hamas.
Forensic tests by the Abu Kabir Institute of Forensic Medicine and military sources — reported by Ynet and confirmed by the Hostages and Missing Families Forum — indicate that Tamir died on October 9, 2023, in an Israeli strike while in captivity.
The Forum’s Hebrew statement was blunt:
“Tamir was abducted alive and killed in an IDF airstrike while in captivity.”
Israeli activist Alon-Lee Green summed it up:
“Another hostage came back in a coffin because the IDF bombed him.”
Tamir wasn’t alone. Three other abducted soldiers — Sgt. Ron Sherman, Cpl. Nik Beizer, and Elia Toledano — were also “very likely” killed in the same Israeli strike.

Why this matters goes far beyond one unbearable tragedy.
For months, Israel’s leaders insisted that mass bombardment was necessary to “bring the hostages home.” Families pleaded for restraint — many begged their government to prioritize negotiations instead of air raids. They were ignored, even vilified, while the military dropped tens of thousands of bombs across Gaza — on homes, schools, refugee camps, hospitals, and the very places where hostages were being held.
