You waffle endlessly, teapot.
How would YOU eliminate illegal immigration, round up and deport criminals?
The same way as the Dems have been doing it - not at all.
I would do it legally, within the bounds of the Constitution, without stripping the rights of lawful US citizens, without troops patrolling neighbourhoods, without racial profiling, and without gutting the economy in the process.
If the US economy has been propped up for decades by the quiet exploitation of undocumented labour, then that hypocrisy needs to be confronted first.
You cannot endlessly erode workers' rights and protections to satisfy corporate greed, while simultaneously making people's livelihoods so precarious that they require multiple jobs just to afford basic healthcare. Then, when a single accident or illness ruins them financially, they're further trapped and exploited by the same employers who caused it, all while the government hammers the undocumented workers themselves instead of the companies that knowingly hire them. That must change before anything else.
Right now, the cost, financial, moral, and social, of these deportations isn't remotely worth it.
Repelling into apartment buildings in the dead of night from Blackhawk helicopters, dragging families from their homes, zip-tying children in their pyjamas and waving guns in their faces, hoping to find an undocumented person, that isn't law enforcement, that's terror. Trump sponsored domestic terror.
Forcing American citizens who don't look white to carry proof of citizenship wherever they go, only to detain them anyway and deny them due process, that's not acceptable in any functioning democracy.
And for what? For talk of the Insurrection Act, for National Guard deployment, and the creeping threat of Martial Law?
All this just to rip out the very workers who keep the US economy afloat, because they are brown?
Like his failed tariffs, Trump isn't doing any of the groundwork to make this pain and suffering amount to anything. There's no plan, no long-term strategy, just cruelty for applause. He'll never reach his supposed goals on trade or immigration with nothing but authoritarian gestures and populist theatrics.
It might thrill the red-hat faithful for a time, but they'll soon find themselves living in the wreckage they cheered for.
They're already losing their healthcare, or facing paying more than double for what little remains, while rural hospitals close one by one. All this hardship, all this national decline, to funnel more money into ICE.
So what would I do? Anything but this.
Quote:But you are gasbagging endlessly, emotively, hyperbolically, turgidly your purple prose adjective here when Trump the Heretic, Anti-Christ, Hitler, Demon, Satan, Ultra-Hyper-Super-Extreme Right [your moronic exaggration here ] does ANYTHING, absolutely anything.
You spend your sad, parochial, down in the mouth little Meanjin life with comparing about Trump.
And what do you do? I don't need to resort to insults or tantrums to make a point. I'm not the one falling apart because my worldview is collapsing under the weight of reality.
Everything I warned about Trump is happening, troops in the streets, court orders ignored, the Constitution trampled, rights stripped away, healthcare gutted, and costs skyrocketing. He's alienating allies and edging the world closer to another catastrophic war.
This is exactly what I, and so many others, said would happen. And you dismissed it as "gasbagging endlessly, emotively, hyperbolically" and so on.
Tell me, is it still "hyperbolic" when it's true?
Trump is inflicting pain on everyone, not just undocumented people. And when he's done, everyone's lives will be worse.
It's not worth it.
This is what happens when someone as lazy and incompetent as Trump is flattered into obedience by those who wish to remake the nation in their image. A few kind words, a little ego-stroking, and he'll sign anything, order anything, destroy anything.
We've seen it before, and we'll see it again.
And all we'll see from you is the same pattern, emotional collapse, personal attacks, and deflection, because admitting the truth would mean acknowledging that you were wrong, that you were lied to, that you were used.
Your cognitive dissonance is eating you alive. You need to step back and confront it. Because right now, you're nothing but a broken record, spewing the same tired lies, empty insults, and incoherent babble, a crybaby running from his own questions because the answers cut too deep.
I know you'll dismiss this as "waffle" and throw the usual insults my way, but honestly, what did you expect? A one-line response to a question as complex as illegal immigration? You think decades of policy failure and systemic rot can be summed up in a sentence? Please.
Keep running, it's what you do best. I won't even bother even daring you to address the actual content of this post, we both know you won't. You're too frightened to engage with anything that might expose how flimsy your arguments are.
At this point, we should turn your predictable outbursts into a game. A drinking game, or maybe a BINGO card filled with your tired, recycled insults and personal attacks.
Nothing you say has evolved in months. You've become background noise, a boring, unoriginal echo of your own insecurities.
