According to the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS), a non-partisan independent research organization in the United States, nearly 400,000 "anchor babies" are born across the United States each year.
That's about 8 million in 20 years. Add all the fast tracked and 'forgiven by Biden' invaders and you have your 11 million 'Americans' for whom the Demxs have closed down the government.
So, they're legal then?
Birthright citizenship guarantees that children born in the United States are American citizens, full stop, and as such they are entitled to welfare under the 14th Amendment. That includes Medicaid/CHIP, SNAP, TANF, and WIC, at least until Trump guts those programs under the Big Beautiful Bill.
Their undocumented parents? They get nothing beyond emergency medical care, the same narrow carve-out signed into law under Ronald Reagan. That's been the law for decades. Democrats aren't trying to change that, and it has nothing to do with so-called "illegals."
What you're really doing is peddling a lie. You're talking about rewriting the Constitution itself to strip existing rights from citizen children. Even in your hypothetical world, those kids wouldn't be "illegals," they'd be reclassified citizens suddenly stripped of protections they've always had. If they were considered illegal, they'd no longer qualify for these programs should they still exist. So even then, your claim falls apart.
The truth is this, the Democrats are trying to stop Trump from ripping healthcare away from 15–17 million Americans. Legal Americans. The people losing coverage aren't "illegals," they're ordinary citizens cut adrift by cuts Republicans already locked into law with the Big Beautiful Bill.
That's why Democrats want the budget bill to include provisions that keep those services funded beyond January 1st, 2027, when the Republican-mandated cuts kick in. Trump has flat-out refused, choosing to shut the government down rather than negotiate.
It's not even unprecedented. This is the second time Republicans have shut the government down over their obsession with stripping healthcare from their own citizens. They did it in 2013, when House Republicans refused to pass a budget unless Obamacare was gutted. And now here we are again.
So spare us the nonsense about Democrats handing out healthcare to "illegals."
The facts expose that for what it is, a con designed to trick the gullible into cheering while Trump strips healthcare from millions of Americans. And the cruel irony? Many of the very people chanting his name are the ones about to lose the most.
