It is spring—time to get into the garden!

My San Marzano tomato seeds have sprouted and I am preparing pots to transfer the seedlings to.

Have planted Blue Cream cherry tomato seeds. REALLY interested in seeing how these turn out. Want to also plant some plain cherry toms—dry these and preserve in olive oil with garlic cloves, bay leaves, basil etc. Great on pizzas, in salads, cheese plates, stews and pasta dishes etc etc.

Some endive and kale seeds planted. Much more to go.

Have to prepare a bed, clean soil, sprinkle carrot seeds and start carrots growing. Can do this every two weeks or so.

Will need to thin. Carrot seed is too fine to plant using fingers to place seeds. Will mix with coarse semolina (in lieu of sand) and sprinkle sparsely in one row.

So—anybody else getting busy in the garden about now?
