Here in Melbourne us Italians as Greeks have the cask open but in an area for those that wish to view … that pic of Charlie’s wife with him in coffin, it’s exactly how I remember my Aunty when Uncle died. She was stroking his head as if comforting him but really it was herself she was comforting before the coffin is closed forever.

Greg….it’s not a “normal” upbringing thing our gen did……but these younger gens…”selfies” of all sorts are “normal” to them. Completely normal and even expected.
My gen, we are more private. Lucky to put up photos of flowers or bees or Christmas food.

Something else I needed to mention…there’s all sorts of things being written I see on fb about this shooting and death is faked. Not to believe everything we see or hear on media.
So in a way, that open cask of Charlie was proof to diminish the talk of it being faked?

So in a way, that open cask of Charlie was proof to diminish the talk of it being faked?

I can't stress this enough, but you don't seem to be listening: I'm not opposed to open caskets.

I'm opposed to people taking selfies with the dead body.

It's not about open caskets, per se.

It's about her taking selfies with his body in the casket and then posting them online.

That's not normal.

Greg….it’s not a “normal” upbringing thing our gen did……but these younger gens…”selfies” of all sorts are “normal” to them. Completely normal and even expected.

Understood.
And that’s okay.
I just thought of something about different gens.
How different we all are with privacy.
My parents gen were secretive. Never told us much.
My gen, we were private but a bit more open to others/friends. Sharing experiences but took a long time to find courage to talk about our problems.
Next gen x and millennials, partly private, partly more open than my gen.
Then thereafter, it just changed so much…so open (to the point I thought they can’t be trusted with secrets if you tell them) and everything taken with selfies. It’s become so normal that it’s not shocking.
Personally, I still value privacy.
