From a female perspective, I see her as composed rather than contrived.
She’s still in shock and feelings can numb. One of the stages.
Having it all written in front of her to read helps to focus.
I recall when needing to get up to talk in front of everyone after each of my parents died, I took 4 Panadols to cope through it, helped to soften the grief so to do a better speech.

She has lost her husband and her childrens father that she loved dearly, people who are incapable of empathy (psychopaths) will take the opportunity add to her pain.

Well, I'm sure she loves his real estate portfolio and his money.

Turning Point USA CEO and co-founder Charlie Kirk once said, "I can't stand the word empathy, actually. I think empathy is a made-up, new age term that — it does a lot of damage."

Who stands behind a podium to speak about their dead husband???

I know   Undecided

Creepy AF.

The interesting bit armchair is what you believe, you are responsible for your actions and you can't blame someone else for your actions. You are the sole arbitrator of your morals.

Trump derangement syndrome
Fareed Zakaria defined the term as "hatred of President Trump so intense that it impairs people's judgment"

Lets check in at 5pm on 23rd July 2025 then at 5pm on 30th July

Well isn’t that interesting….about empathy.
No everyone is capable of feeling for others.
My mum was exactly like that. I couldn’t understand it at the time and she never had any empathy or understanding for my growing pains.
I’m totally opposit, very sensitive and felt hurts for others as I always listened attentively to them.
I’m toughening up as I aged thank goodness. But I do envy younger ones with so much confidence, less worries what they are thought of by others, and pursue their goals.
Seems to be the magic formula for the ladder of success? Business required it, otherwise many ruthless people will see you as a push over and either use you, or rip you off.

But…empathy, is not … non existent, except to those that don’t have it nor understand how others feel.
It’s probably the way some are born.

Which is why I have said numerous times that he didn't deserve to die, there should be only an exchange of ideas not bullets and that all political violence is wrong. But we have to speak the truth - political violence has only increased since Trump entered US politics. He openly incites his MAGA cult members and the results are there for all to see, most notably when they tried to stage a coup because Trump refused to accept he lost to Biden in 2020 fair and square. In fact, he still refuses to accept it, saying the election was stolen and rigged and corrupt. It's a shame Kirk's kids have to live with only the memories they have of him now rather than creating new ones, and it's a shame his wife now has to raise their kids without him. But this is a direct result of Trump's increasingly violent and divisive rhetoric.

A lack of empathy is a hallmark sign of people who suffer from autism.

100% correct.

Or, as Trump would say, 1500% correct.

The blood of Charlie Kirk is all over the rapist's tiny little hands.

At the present moment, she has a lot of support all around her, all top nogs too. Wants to do her late husband proud. It’s the time to do so, I’m sure she’s advised, whilst the need is still hot. Once this news is stale and old, her speech wouldn’t have the same oomph.

It’s the sort of thing that reminds me of hearing of death of loved one, to having many come around and be supportive, getting funeral plans ready and so many people around that keeps one’s spirits lifted to cope and get through it.
And then….as usual, afterwards, it’s “everyone gets on with life” and you feel the real grief, more alone with it, crying more when no one’s looking. And no one wants to hear of your grief over and over because they would like you to move on.
And grief goes through these stages, and it takes time for each stage.

You know, when someone in my family dies - and that's happened a lot in the last couple of years - the last thing I wanna do is give a public speech.

She appears to be an attention whore, and the whole reason for giving the speech was to dog whistle the violent right-wing MAGA mobs.

Interesting. I never thought it like that.

My son has autism and it makes it difficult for him to understand and consider other people’s feelings. For example, he might come across someone with bad breath or body odour. You and I would be polite and not say anything to avoid embarrassing that person, being considerate of their feelings - which is empathy. He will just tell them, not intending to be hurtful but simply because it is the truth. In his mind, he doesn’t understand that telling that person they smell is wrong because he’s just telling the truth. That’s how it computes for him.

Perhaps this guy - Charlie Kirk struggled with the same problems. You can actually see it in his comments on YouTube when he’s debating a point with someone. I didn’t know him so perhaps I’m wrong.

Kirk supported and endorsed a rapist and convicted felon who stole millions from kids' cancer charities.

Kirk's repugnant widow supported and defended both of them.

She's a horrible person.

I have zero sympathy for women (or anyone) who defend and endorse rapists whose best friends were paedophiles.

Horrible woman.

An attention whore after fame and fortune, and now she's calling for more violence.

ZERO sympathy for her.

Some of her terms and tone were aggressive and vindictive.
She is an american 'conservative'

they have 400,000,000 guns, an extrinsic culture and an aggressive divisive dictator .

It just makes no sense.

It's almost a cry for revenge, like Trump calling for his cult members to "fight, fight, fight".
