No Environment board so

In the absence of an Environment MRB here I present the Berkeley Earth Sciences Team (BEST) report for August 2025:

Quote:
The world has warmed
1.3°C

How much has your country warmed?

I plugged Australia into the dropdown menu:
Quote:
Australia

Already +1.1°C in 2022, 3.5°C projected to 2100.

Tassie starting to look good!

OK, latest monthly update is for July:

July 2025 Temperature Update
Posted on August 29, 2025 by Robert Rohde, Zeke Hausfather, Devin Rand

The following is a summary of global temperature conditions in Berkeley Earth’s analysis of July 2025.

July 2025 was the third warmest July on record behind 2023 and 2024, with a global average of 1.29 ± 0.11 °C (2.32 ± 0.19 °F) above the 1850-1900 average.

Land temperatures averaged 1.54 ± 0.16 °C (2.77 ± 0.29 °F) above the 1850-1900 average, ranking as the 9th warmest July for terrestrial regions.

Ocean temperatures were 1.07 ± 0.10 °C (1.93 ± 0.18 °F) above the 1850-1900 average, making it the third warmest July for ocean surfaces.

ENSO-neutral continues with a 56% chance to persist through October, with a return to La Niña more likely than not later this year.
5.2% of Earth’s surface experienced a record high July monthly average (4.0% and 5.7% of land and ocean surfaces respectively).
2025 now has a 88% chance to be the third warmest year on record and a 4.2% chance to have an annual average above 1.5 °C.

Global Summary

July 2025 was the third warmest July on record, with a monthly global average of 1.29 ± 0.11 °C (2.32 ± 0.19 °F) above the 1850-1900 average. This places July 2025 significantly behind the extreme warmth of 2023 and 2024, but ahead of every July prior to 2023.

So, clearly, AGW is still going on. The projections by BEST using non-homogenised data are based on projected emissions trends.

Clearly, if we had an Environment board all this would be discussed there, alas we have no Environment board. We have a chat board with an emphasis on weather but mostly discussing crap of no relevance to anything much. The mod of that Weather chat board is a high school dropout of limited intelligence.

Just at a nice time we have a column discussing whether raw data not adjusted data would show less warming. It shows more.

The column discusses a lot of changes over time: at sea changing from buckets of sea water being hauled up and the temperature of the sea level water being taken, to changes in land like time of observation and mercury thermometers being changed for electronic thermistor types.

A good, fairly detailed description easy to read.

BTW—raw data show MORE warming!

We REALLY should have an environment board. It would post and link to lots of articles, scientific papers, ABC/BBC programs, NYT, Guardian and so on articles. This would raise our SEO or at least slow its fall.

Five people drown in NSW floods and the hapless idiot modding what is, in name only, our Environment board, posts, not about the floods, the drownings, any link to AGW causing more rain etc etc. No, the moron posts some completely bland, boring, meaningless YouTube about some allegedly funny animal.

Because we do not get all these posts citing authoritative papers and articles our SEO rankings, according to FD himself, are plunging and post count with it.

Time to do something, time for a new Environment mod!

Is lee setting himself up to be the new Environment mod after Booby gets the flick? He has posted three new threads just recently.

Of course, lee would be a bigger disaster than Booby. In fact, lee shares blame for the failure of Environment and OzPol. Any thread on the consequences of AGW appears and lee hoses it down and kills it. The guy hates change and so hates talk of AGW and its consequences.

But at least lee recognises that Booby can’t last as Environment mod for much longer.

lee must have seen my warning.

His post in the so–called Environment board, that he uses science to refute the scientific papers I quote and link, is laughable.

And he doesn’t know the difference between a link to the Guardian or ABC with a link to an actual scientific paper. Both links can raise OzPol’s SEO rankings.

lee just skims not reads properly.
