Your everyday vintage stuff…
Aug 29th, 2025 at 1:46pm

I was emptying out the dishwasher and looked at these bread plates I use everyday and how good they lasted… so I decided to look up the name for some reason! And Lo and behold! They are 80s vintage worth so something on eBay!

Now I’m perplexed….  Grin

But so much vintage stuff I have and always use… it just lasts so well!

I’ll be more careful with it so one day…. The kids can sell it all on eBay  Grin

What vintage stuff do others on here have that’s used often?

As for the hubby in his garage… wow where do I begin with old crap  Grin

That is barely worth the effort of putting the ad on ebay.

Admittedly I couldn’t be bothered after eBay commission gets taken out and postage paid.
I barely use eBay to sell anything anymore.
I found Facebook marketplace a hellova lot better!

Anyway… back to old stuff… I have these 1970s stoneware dinner plates that are worth a lot but… I love using them, they are so hard wearing… but my son laughs when he sees these plates in a vintage style restaurant that have specifically sought and bought what I have as everyday normal use  Grin

I’ve got a few different coloured 1960s genie bottles too which I started collecting decades ago for about $5 each and now they are worth $200-300 each  Smiley
Still, not for sale coz I like them.

Similar to ones below in different shapes and colours.

Also stoneware.

Is it on show in a nice dining room dresser or do you use them daily/weekly?

One thing I noticed… as I got married mid 1970s so most stuff from that decade is long lasting!

I use the cups sometimes, occasionally the platters.

It is stoneware so a bit tougher than normal pottery, earthenware.

Yes and especially if you don't sell.

A long time ago - I put up an advert for an item at a price of around A$250.00
I still ended up with a fee of about $14 to pay.

I actually have a dozens of low value items too -
let's say in the range of $5 to $20 -
and if I wanted to sell them
I'd  have to spend a lot of time and effort to create each page with photos etc.
If I sold I'd waste petrol and time posting them off.
If I didn't sell I'd be left with fees to pay.
It's not worth the effort and really - I'd be losing money
and definitely losing a lot of time.

Also -  eBay takes 13.4% of the sale amount up to $4,000.
