I don't think he's in the bush.

I suspect he's hiding somewhere very close to the scene of the crime.

Maybe in someone else's house.

That will form part of the investigation.

The guy is totally insane, but I don't think he's stupid.

I reckon he ran into the bush, then doubled back.

Probably in someone's basement having a good old laugh.

Hopefully they'll catch the bastard soon.

Given the weather this is the most likely scenario. Could even have been transported elsewhere.

I’ve been thinking he’s in a house or shed/barn somewhere. Whether it’s an occupied house or unoccupied.
But the police have to approach any building with extreme caution that’s for darn sure.
I’d be nervous if I were a cop looking for an armed killer in bushland.

As for maybe being transported somewhere…. Certainly not by vehicle as all roads are blocked. Maybe on back of motor bike through scrublands to another empathisers location (via arranged phone calls between empathisers?) and then transferred further out of the region.

Our imaginations are thinking up so many different scenarios!
I’m certain the task force has thought it all up also.

News reports it’s the biggest manhunt in Australian history.

All roads are blocked but not all tracks, stop thinking modern, on horseback he could be a hundred miles away by now.
Or if modern he’s on a mountain pushbike, virtually soundless.

Mountain push bike….now that puts another question in mind…can dogs pick up any scent at all if one uses a push bike? Since feet are not touching the ground.

Generally speaking , No, but scent may be left on bushes etc., that the quarry brushes against, all depends on how good the dog is..

On another forum it was suggested that he is a ‘’prepper’’ , as many Sovereign Citizens are, then things become more difficult and complicated.
Preppers are big business and though generally thought of as somewhat eccentric they are usually intelligent and resourceful.
Lots on them on Wikipedia, here’s a sample,

While I was searching RE: scents, push bikes etc. I can’t across information saying cayenne pepper can throw a dogs scent off for about 20 minutes.

Now Daily Mail can reveal Freeman was at the centre of a 30-strong anti-authority network
that secretly met at his rural property for years.

Members of the group drew up a list of names and ranks of officers they branded 'police thugs'
from the nearby Myrtleford station, openly discussing how to 'name and shame' them.

Anyway - all this searching is rooting out a few Usual Suspects with hidden guns and such...

Oh my just saw an extensive story on the guy. Talk about harassed a lot by cops. Since about 2018. He said somewhere that police were thugs.

Well not all but… it comes to mind that poor kid dropped to the concrete floor at a train station (Bobby has put that vid up) by cops. That kid ended up dying as a result of injuries.

Good point; some police act badly when their authority is challenged, especially when controlling mass-protest movements.

But re Sov Cits:

https://www.ozpolitic.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1645944963/1200

Why regional Australia is fertile ground for sovereign citizen movement

In short:

A leading expert on extremist and ideological groups says inequality is contributing to the growth of fringe groups in rural and regional Australia.

Deakin University's associate professor Josh Roose says housing shortages and a lack of opportunities are making some people susceptible to groups offering simple solutions to complex problems.

I wouldn't consider being a policeman while the current (systemic) economic and political dysfunction are resulting in the current level of societal breakdown and hyper-partisanship.

Well reading that link says as he’s a prepper… he could have a hidden bunker and that could make him hideaway for 12 months maybe 2 years depending on stuff stocked. There’s been absolutely no trace of him.
This is the stuff criminal mystery movies are made of, and we all hold our breaths waiting to hear of a lead of some sort….but instead…nothing!
But wouldn’t his wife and teen kid know about the bunker to be pressed for questions about it?

Dunno.

Another story - the cops are rounding up the usual suspects:

for the accused cop killer - as he blasts the elite tactical squad
'who made him crawl on hands and knees'

A survivalist prepper arrested during the manhunt for Dezi Freeman claims he has absolutely no connection to the accused cop killer.

Self-described outlaw biker and sovereign citizen Stephen Mallett, 61, claimed more than 10 tactical officers trained their guns on him during his arrest on Friday night.

Oh wow, that’s scary. That poor old bloke getting picked on. And he has never met Desi and thinks he’s a dickhead.
So why aren’t the police force getting more information out of his wife and teen kid?

The wife and kids are innocent -
they are victims of that man.
What future have they got now?
