The Australian Federal Police Association (AFPA) has separately confirmed that two officers are deceased and one has been wounded after police executed a warrant at a rural property in Porepunkah.

Reading the links it seems the incident is still going on.

The police know who the shooter is, yet they haven't released his or her name or photo.

Seems a bit strange.

Accused gunman is a 'sovereign citizen'

By April Glover   16:04

The accused Porepunkah gunman is thought to be a so-called "sovereign citizen", 9News reports.

According to the Australian Federal Police, a sovereign citizen – also known as a SovCit – seeks to "disassociate from society and refuses to engage with societal requirements like paying tax".

The offender remains on the run and there are reports that several family members, including children, are with him.

Dozens of police officers have descended on Porepunkah, including members of the Special Operations Group.

Ah.

My thoughts on SovCits from a few days ago:

Just heard there were 10 police officers attending that property earlier with warrant to arrest sex offender/s.
And the gunman considers himself a sovereign citizen.

Well freedom of certain rights are okay, but being a sex offender and killing others is not anyone’s right!

How long with children is he going to last out in the Alpine region?
He’s put those children’s lives at risk.

I feel sad for the 2 policemen that won’t be going home to families anymore  Cry

SovCit.

Say no more.

I warned everyone about these lunatics just last week.

Anyone who identifies as a SovCit should be arrested and interrogated, as a precaution.

They are mentally ill and very dangerous.

Now will you agree that we need to bring back 19th century British justice?

Oh my just saw an extensive story on the guy. Talk about harassed a lot by cops. Since about 2018.
He said somewhere that police were thugs.
Well not all but… it comes to mind that poor kid dropped to the concrete floor at a train station (Bobby has put that vid up) by cops. That kid ended up dying as a result of injuries.

I know someone personally who’s a sov cit and was harassed to the point he put up signs around the fence perimeter of his property as a warning to keep out. Well if you know our shire… it’s the worst one ever… they wouldn’t allow him to build a house on the land, declared it as land slip.
So they had no choice but to sell up and leave.
Lo and behold, the new owners were allowed to build a house on that property in a short time after.
