Some people question why the CIRT wasn't used?
The Critical Incident Response Team.
A safer way to get him is to wait till he went to say the supermarket
and have plain clothes officers arrest him when he is near his car -
on the way out with an armful of groceries.
To go to his home territory when you know he is armed -
sounds like a silly thing to do.
Surely the senior cops mucked up the risk assessment for this job?
I assume they knew there was a risk he had firearms otherwise
they wouldn't send 10 cops there?
I see busts all the time on TV and I feel sorry for the police who have to do them.
They put their lives on the line when they bust down someone's door -
if a crook is behind the door with a rifle, they are goners -
no bullet proof vest will protect them.
The senior cops need to get a bit smarter -
as I said -
catching someone as they leave a supermarket with an armful of groceries
would be a much better time to pounce -
using undercover cops who can easily hide in the dozens or 100s of cars in those areas.
Catch them by surprise when you can see they are unarmed and vulnerable.
