Is 2 million enough for 20 years in prison?
Aug 12th, 2025 at 10:36am

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2025-08-11/kathleen-folbigg-to-fight-2-million-payme...

“ In short:
Kathlenn Folbigg has spoken out against the NSW government's $2 million compensation payout, describing it as "insulting".
Ms Folbigg has questioned the government's lack of transparency at arriving at the figure, saying it felt like it was done without "too much feeling, empathy".
She was pardoned in 2023 over the wrongful conviction and imprisonment over the killing of her four young children.”

On 9 January 2017, Ley announced that she would stand aside from her ministerial portfolios until an investigation into her travel expenses was completed by the Department of Prime Minister .

A quick calculation and it’s 100 k a year ( today’s average wage) tax free.

Fair compensation for lost of income but nothing for lost of freedom or reputation nor the sheer horror she must have endured.

I suggest it should be doubled.

The Chris Minns  NSW labor government should be ashamed at how they have handled this.

No amount of money could ever make up for rotting in prison for 20 years.

At least she'll get something.

It’s appalling Chris Minns statement that “ it’s all the government can afford, sue us”.

The nsw government seems to have plenty of money for ministers to go on limousine tours of the hunter valley wineries?

How has NSW ended up the economic basket case of Australia?
Seriously corrupt Glady? Kristina labor  led government the most corrupt since the rum rebellion ?
If her legal team asked for ten million then that’s a fair deal

She should just be grateful that we don't have the death penalty for starters.
I would.
Plus I wouldn't go for 'da money' as the first compensation.
I would go for the imprisonment of the Judge. Wink
