89 - same age my Dad died.

It's a cliche but, not a bad innings.

He and Little Patti were present at Nui Dat when Long Tan kicked off.  She was evacuated, he was give a rifle and told to shoot to kill.  He was terrified. Shocked

I was watching "Danger Close: The Battle of Long Tan" the other night. I was thinking that Col Joye was doing well for his age, given that no one had mentioned his passing. Then I come online to find out that he died 2 weeks ago.

There was nothing to say that Col Joye was forced to fight in the war. Word has it that Col was taken away to have a few drinks with the soldiers, whilst Little Patti was evacuated.
