Here's something else to trigger you.

Quote:
It should not be for judges to decide when a political protest is justified. The decision to close the Sydney Harbour Bridge to facilitate this protest is a political decision and should be made by elected and accountable ministers - who as it happens, think the march should not go ahead.

We are on a slippery slope when unelected judges start making political judgments.

Former PM Tony Abbott

I agree with Abbott and I hope they get washed out.

If they want to protest send them over to Gaza!

Absolutely.

And Abbott is 100% correct.  It shouldn't be up to judges to decide these things - it should be up to our elected state govt and the police.

The police are unelected.

So, where's the link to that poll?

In a ruling typical of the Supreme Court, Justice Belinda Rigg has handed down her judgment on the planned protest march, in which she said: “The commissioner’s application should be refused.

“It is very much in the entitlement to public protest that disruption will be caused to others.

“The fact the proposed assembly is likely to cause significant inconvenience to residents ... is far from determinative.

“If matters such as this were to be determinative, no assembly involving inconvenience to others would be permitted.”

So when has the court ever worked with the police on anything.  Angry

ps ... in a recent poll, 93% were against the bridge being closed.

Other polls show that less than 8% of Australians want these protests allowed period.  That was months ago so it's probably less now.

True.  It's only the loony left who persist.  The northern half of the Harbour Bridge is my son's police jurisdiction.  They say it will cause disruptions to the North Shore/Northern Beaches as we're the ones who use the bridge.  In the wet it will be chaotic.

It's the police's jurisdiction.  The State govt is elected and they are against it.  You need to brush up on your comprehension.

It will be wet and windy.

Enough wind to destroy umbrellas and make holding signs very difficult
