The Palestine-Israel issue is not a religious one.

It never has been.

Had Indonesians moved en masse into the region, displacing the local population, the response would have been the same.

That's why Israelis are reversing the process that drove them out... always was .. always will be .. at some time in any occupation of any land, there has to be a determination of what nation it is.... you can see the glaring and growing failure of that right here and now in Australia, with all kinds of silly little groups claiming possession of land that has long been Australia and can no longer be claimed as if by some right of past conquest.

Are you now prepared to say that Britain is not British?  That Germany is not German?  Should Rome be given back chunks of nations it once owned?  That Russia should be given back Ukraine, and all the -stans it once held as vassal states? Should China be handed back control over its past dominions?  What about the British empire?  Should it be handed back all of its dominions?  the Spanish Empire.... and so on and so on...

Land has been sorted out as nations for thousands of years... now in the modern age, a nation is a nation, and conquest by violence is outlawed... and Israel is a nation - and there is no Palestine.

Pretty simple.

And the issue isn't even restricted to Israel-Palestine.

The right to exist in their own nation-state is claimed by others, such as the Basques and the Catalonians.

The right to unify/reunify with another state is claimed by many in Northern Ireland.

Then there are complex territorial disputes such as in Cyprus and between Armenia and Azerbaijan, China-Taiwan, India-Pakistan over Kashmir, China-Philippines over the South China Sea, China-India along their disputed border, China-Tibet, Russia-Ukraine...

Then there are indigenous land rights with the question of sovereignty at their core.

Territorial disputes are not the exception in human affairs; they're the norm.

The Palestinians had 6+ opportunities in the past 75 years to settle disputes and have their own state. They rejected it all because accepting would have meant accepting the existence of Israel.
But as you so vividly put it, the Palestins would rather chew off their own balls, the Jews' balls, your balls, than accept the existence of Israel.

Displaced peoples can maintain a collective memory of homeland and self-rule for generations... hundreds of years...

Even in Scotland, the dream of independence has never died.

In Ireland, the native Irish never lost faith over hundreds of years.

Geolocated cultural memory is part of the human condition, even when those doing the remembering have been separated from location for generations.

I have no personality profile...  I'm just an average man in the community who loves animals and treats people like human beings ...I see you've bitten...  tell me the answer ... you think you know the question.......

Or perhaps you've seen the lapel pin I gave to a mate and which pin now lives in an RSL?  I also have one, a different one, on my leather jacket - only 5000 were ever made... you know - like those little badges you see on coat lapels in movies and TV shows to signify things ... just not like this one, which is very rare.

Oh - the mystery deepens for you....

Yes - the Jewish people did that - the difference is that they have had their nation as identified thousands of years ago recognised... and Scotland is still recognised as 'different' if not separate.... if the chips are down, Scots are Scots..... but they don't let a friend down...

Now then ... way back when there was a Jewish state ........................ there were no 'Palestinians' - those Philistines who came from Greece and then intermingled with Jews and Arabs..... they were, even in Roman times, a separate group who did not possess Judea and surrounds.... and certainly did not possess Jerusalem.... which they now claim is the capital they were deprived of..... even in the times of Jesus, they were referred to as a separate group called The Philistines.... a totally separate group who lived in.... pretty much modern day Gaza.... and did not have a good reputation for honesty and integrity.

Gotta say i'm saddened that a march against a true and pressing genocide stirs such resentment. Even sadder to see pop-politics the reason for it.

See me, for example, cares not a whit abot what the circumstances or politics are a person in need before i endeavor to offer my assistance, in whatever small or substantial way that may be. I've never been a fan of only calling out injustice when it suits my cause.

As has been said to all of you hysterics for years now, sides don't matter. Both have blood on them.

The fact you see only one side while the other piles with starving, diseased and blown asunder children's corpses is for you and your various gods to reconcile.

I already know what i think of you.

Crappler, please stop trying to use ellipses until you understand them.

Thanks.

Apologies Mothra. Allow me to rephrase the question.

What makes you say that it is genocide?
