Wow - that is exciting.

Let them continue to use those names then - we don't mind...

Black Fatigue - when I was going to school the local main road was Myall Road... now they should call it Whitey's Road just to keep the truthtelling on track.

Hands up those sick of this BS!!!

"Why are you always going on about Abos, Brian?

"I want to be one.... and I want to have boomerangs.."

"But you can't have a boomerang... you need training to throw it and get it back.. where you gonna keep it?  Above your mantle-piece?  Bit paternalist oppressive, innit?"

"But I WANT to be an Abo... I can feel the benefits in my soul!"

"More like your Ah Soul, Brian..."

"I know - let's take a vote on it!"

"Vote on what?"

"That Brian can identify as an Abo, even if he can't be one and can't keep a boomerang!  Why not just agree that he has the RIGHT to be an Abo even if he can't BE an Abo!"

"Oh, awright - all in favour..."

"Right - now let's get on with the real issues... what else has the White Man done for the Abos, I ask you!!!"

I went to the Museum of Perth recently.
Pitiful.
It is a half empty hall with large, fading panels about the potted history of the place, about one panel for every 20-30 years, the story told with the customary hand wringing in suitably guilty tones.

Then there are about another dozen or so panels about the Aboriginal names of the various suburbs of Perth. Finally, a big tv screen showing photogenic Aboriginal moppets saying the Aboriginal words for the suburb, on an endless loop. Poor volunteer attendant, listening to it all day.

Perth is very big on Abirigines but you quickly realise that what is constantly touted as "rich culture" is in fact very, very thin gruel. This mismatch of talking up of Aboriginal culture versus its substance is noticeable across the whole country.  I think it is one of the many sources of black fatigue.

Why do you continue to denigrate the Aboriginal members of the Light Horse by claiming that they had extra long bayonets, and not the ordinary 17 inch bladed sword?
Anyone who asserts such lies about Indigenous soldiers is a lying coward.
