Ahahaha I can relate to this. . .
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/biIY89H0SZE?feature=shareDemi was a terror on lead, pulling all the time—that was the motivation for joining the local dog club.
Socks, a tad over three times Demi’s weight (3 x 8.5 = 25.5Kg, barely half a kilo under Socks’ adult weight) is a different problem entirely.
Socks learned quickly to heal on—and off—lead. That isn’t the end of the story—I have to be always alert, looking out for a cat, chicken, rabbit or sheep on the road, the very wide nature strip on each side of the road. I can use my height and somewhat better long range vision to get ready.
One time on the beach I was standing there watching some salmon fishers ply their beach casting rods. Next thing I was face down on the sand—I guess a sea gull landed on Socks’ beach

Another time I was on top of a steep bank—I live in a hilly area—when Socks spots someone she knows walking towards us along the street—how I didn’t land on my face that time I will never know. Socks is a strong dog, solid muscle on her legs, a real hunting, coursing, hound!
