Entitlement to defence of self and property.  Failure on the part of the State to do so is a clear indication that we, the people, have no rights and are vassals of the State - not citizens to whom the State answers.

Australian land since 1788 - always will be Australian land ....

Well said, and as the State cannot protect its citizens then those citizens have every right to protect themselves and logically they also have the right to an effective means of such protection.

A very disturbing incident, but I would like to know the back story here.

Well you all know the story as pumped by the Lefty Media here to the American Media over there.
Australia is a nation of poor downtrodden Convicts whose only crime was to steal a loaf of bread against the 'evil' British Empire.

Little wonder the cultural sympathy is for the CRIMINAL element here and why new Australian Criminals are just committing crimes in their revolution excuse against the evil British oppressors here.

This is the core of the problem here.

If guns had been totally banned the criminals wouldn't have had guns to start with and wouldn't have walked away with 3 additional guns

The British Convict committed the crimes in the old World, not here - where the discipline of their convictions has made them better people than what they once were.

It's the Americanised Free Settlers of yesterday, who are the ones committing the crimes of today - HERE and exploiting that 'loaf of bread' sympathy excuse to get away with it time and again.

If that man had held the automatic right to self-defence with arms if necessary - the outcome might have been very different.  Criminals generally don't get in a lot of practice - a legal gun owner is legally obliged to practice, and without having to hesitate because of fear of the law coming down on HIM, he may well have reacted much more positively.

If he and his wife were in touch with 'legal carry' she may well have had a pistol with which to defend self and husband.

You are serious?
If the answer is ‘’Yes’’, then I’ll just remind you of the numerous times criminals have been caught for making guns.
Latest one was 3D printing them.
Do you support the banning of books on firearms?Access to information on the internet?
The tools with which to make guns?
Lathes, milling machine, drilling machines, vyces, files, hand saws, hammers, anvils, blacksmith’s forges, tongs etc?

But as he appears [at this stage] to be a law abiding citizen then by law he did not have ready access to his locked up firearms and separately locked up ammunition.

Would YOU find a homeowner guilty of defending self, family, home and hearth?

I wouldn't.

That should be a clear message to politicians at all levels.

One of the REASONS criminals home invade etc is because they KNOW that good citizens are actually afraid to defend self, family, home and hearth - because the homeowners KNOW their 'government' will charge them with something if they hurt a criminal.

It's called giving criminal home invaders a free pass....

I recommend a mandatory sentence of twenty years for home invasion ... on the Outback roads on the rock breaking gang.... man with no eyes....

No, I don’t; as he probably needed to keep the rabbit population down he needed a gun, it’s illegal to trap rabbits with the once conventional methods.
Maybe he is also a target shooter, whichever way you look at it he was not breaking the law.

Doesn’t take many to make illegal guns, they make them to sell.
I once, when it was legal, made a working gun from the Saturday edition of the Sydney Morning Herald, and fired it.
Put the bullet halfway through a Sydney telephone directory, definitely lethal, fired about 20 shots altogether, then I inadvertently left it out in the rain and its firing days were over.

Family terrorised by armed intruders during home invasion in Kew East, Melbourne

‘I’ve never seen anything like this. A family … asleep in their home, the house is secure, they’re meant to be safe.’

Molly Magennis
By Molly Magennis

Violent home invasion traumatises family in Kew East
A family, including two children, have been terrorised by a group of intruders during a home invasion which left a man seriously injured.

Five people allegedly broke into a home on Oxford St in Kew East, Melbourne, about 4am on Sunday.

They arrived in a car, jumped over a front fence and smashed the window of a study to get inside.

A husband and wife were awoken by the sound and confronted by the offenders.

Two of the offenders were allegedly armed with a machete, a knife and garden sheers belonging to the family.

The couple were put in separate rooms, with the 34-year-old woman kept in the room where her children, aged two and three, were sleeping.

A scuffle broke out between the 39-year-old husband and the offenders,
during which he was stabbed 11 times suffering injuries to his head, face and arms.

“They’re not used to people fighting back, and this homeowner fought back,” Detective Sergeant Leeanne Trusler said.

The man’s parents, who were also living at the home, went to his aid but were also attacked.

At one point the wife had come out of the room with her children to check on her husband, Trusler said.

One of the offenders pointed a knife at her and demanded she go back inside the room.

“These males have then asked the family if there’s a safe inside the house, which they said there wasn’t,” Trusler said.

On Sunday night, a 24-year-old man and two teenagers, aged 17 and 16, were all charged with aggravated home invasion, intentionally causing serious injury, recklessly causing serious injury, false imprisonment, theft of mobile phone and theft of motor vehicle.

They were all remanded to appear in court at a later date.

The other offenders remain on the run.

We don't know if they were Sudanese.
No descriptions have been released -
it's all top secret.

https://www.noticer.news/melbourne-kew-east-machete-attack/

A 24-year-old man and two teenagers, aged 17 and 16, have all been charged with aggravated home invasion, intentionally cause serious injury, recklessly cause serious injury, four counts of recklessly cause injury, false imprisonment, theft of mobile phones, and theft of motor vehicle.

All were remanded in custody, with the 24-year-old man due to face Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on November 5, and the teenagers due to face a children’s court at a later date.

CCTV obtained by 7 News shows the alleged offenders fleeing from police, who are still searching for two more males.

No descriptions have been released.

Boroondara Detective Sergeant Leanne Trussler said home invaders were “not used to people fighting back, and this homeowner fought back”.

“I’ve never seen anything like this,” she said.

“This is awful, a family, two adults, two children aged 2 and 3 and the grandparents are sleeping their home at nearly 4 o’clock in the morning, the house is secure, they’re meant to be safe, and they’ve woken up and been treated like this.

“It’s their home, or their castle as they say. You should be safe, you shouldn’t be disrespected in your home and having people come in at that time of night and doing that to your family. I don’t know how I’d be if that was my family.”

The attack is the latest in a series of alleged incidents involving machetes in Victoria despite Premier Jacinta Allan banning their sale and installing 40 “machete bins” across the state at a cost of $13 million.

When my place was robbed over 20 years ago and I lost
everything valuable that I ever owned -
I asked the cops a simple question -
"how many other burglaries had there been within say 500 meters of here? "
he said that
"such information was NOT available to members of the public
due to privacy concerns."

The cops keep covering up crime and not reporting any details.
They don't even give a description in the case above of the alleged offenders.
Do they have privacy concerns for the offenders too?

I say it WOULD be different if government  guaranteed housing, education and above poverty employment for everyone, as more or less existed in the post war Keynesian welfare state/deficit spending era.

I reckon social breakdown is well underway in modern Oz, after 4 decades of Neoclassical economic orthodoxy has resulted in a housing crisis and soaring inequality.

Meanwhile comfortably stupid neoliberal economists like Dannielle Woods are saying "change comes slowly" - while people are sleeping in the streets and homelessness is increasing.

Deplorable.

It does mean we should follow a 'middle way', in which public sector money for the collective good is created in the nation's treasury, alongside private sector money which is created in private banks  for individuals competing for private gain.

Forcing government  to rely wholly on private sector money - by taxing or borrowing, is creating the soaring inequality we see around us, as the economy churns out billionaires alongside homeless people.

Agree!  Bring back capital punishment.  Give victims the justice they deserve and the families closure.  I actually know the parents of a daughter who was murdered.  To see them on television, night after night, pleading for information and wanting that closure so desperately was heart-breaking.  I remember that girl when she was little - have photos of her with my kids so it's always a reminder.

And as for paedophiles and child torturers - why should they live in comfort in recreation centres posing as jails and then get out after a few miserly years?  They cost the taxpayers a fortune.  At least they will not get another chance to reoffend as so many do.   Angry

Homelessness and poverty are not excuses for robbery with violence and arson.
Australia went through the Depression with little variation in the violent crime rate, yet the number of homeless was high and the number of poor, as a proportion of the population, much higher than it is today.
My own family was relatively well off, Dad worked on the NSWGR snd for a time worked one week off and one week on [his income was effectively cut in half], he and thousands like him didn’t turn to violent crime.
So there is no excuse especially in these days of Government support.

I’m all for the rope when conviction is beyond doubt.
The number of people murdered by reoffenders is exceeded by the number of people wrongly executed.

Pity they didn't resist arrest and threaten or attack armed officers... could have had a nice, neat Northern Territory solution.

Can anyone explain to me why governments are so gutless scared of these 'ethnic' groups?

Four teenagers have been caught on camera in a six-hour crime rampage across Melbourne’s northwest.
Homeowners filmed as they allegedly stole cars, keys and cash and by this afternoon –
all but one were back on the streets.

I can't believe they get bail for such serious offences.
They are too much of a danger to the community
and it sends the wrong message to other criminals
by not providing a deterrent.

Would YOU get bail if you did those things?  I doubt it.  Bein' a Whartey you are considered to know better... but if you are a Darkie you are a child of nature and know not what the apple in the Garden of Eden was about so you are considered the same as a child  ...  Wharte Man's Burden ..

FFS - does anyone else see where Albothink is taking us all?  It's a form of White Supremacism in disguise, this holding Wharteys to a higher standard ....  FFS ...

An Abo will get a walk for house breaking and car theft .... an African will get a walk for home invasion with machetes or knife brawling in the streets ... a Gypo will be excused for feeling up kids in a swimming pool because it's a cultural thing.... a Leb or Ayrab or 'Persian' will get bail for robbing disabled people's funding or childcare funding or plotting a bomb attack ....but YOU!  YOU BASTARD - INTO THE CELLS NOW!

Next time pay your parking fine!!!

Yet we have the toughest bail laws in Australia.
  Roll Eyes

https://www.premier.vic.gov.au/toughest-bail-laws-australia-pass-parliament

Friday 21 March 2025

The Allan Labor Government is delivering the toughest bail laws in the country, with the first tranche of legislation passing the Parliament this morning.

These new laws will jolt the system. They will change what decision makers consider, ensure respect for the rules and toughen the bail tests for the worst offences.

Starting immediately, community safety will come first on all bail decisions – becoming the overarching principle for bail decision-making. It will also no longer be necessary to consider remand as a last resort for a child.

Two bail offences of “committing an indictable offence while on bail” and “breach of bail conditions” will come into effect immediately. These will deliver consequences for those who do not respect the rules of bail and can be considered by bail decision-makers as a reason to refuse bail.

Both offences will be punishable by up to 3 months imprisonment on top of any other sentence imposed for any crime committed.

Additionally, if someone on bail has been arrested for breach of bail, the Bill will also allow police officers to bring that person to court directly, rather than wait for a bail justice.

The Tough Bail Laws will uplift serious high-harm offences like aggravated burglary, home invasion, carjacking and armed robbery to the toughest bail test, so bail is less likely even on the first charge.

bobby,

Your posts......

When i come across such posts [or news reports on TV]....i find myself feeling angry.

And then i will stop.

And i will ask God, to forgive me, for allowing myself to get so angry.

I know that being angry at such reports of evil, IS JUSTIFIED,
but i know that it isn't a good 'head space' to be in, for anyone who loves God.

Psalms 7:11
God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day.

Psalms 37, KJV

.

What is the answer bobby ?

CONSIDER bobby.......
If we [i.e. Australians] do not like what we are seeing [in our society]......
the fault is ours.

'Huh ??'

Australians [we, ourselves], elected our politicians [our LAWMAKERS].

So we have to take [a collective] responsibility, for what are seeing, happening.

No one else is to blame.

Yes Yadda,
people vote for arse holes who don't protect them from vicious crimes -

criminals get bail - probably for zero dollars -
and they back out on the street robbing, stabbing and murdering.

We seem to be running a stabbing a day in NSW.  News every night - at least one stabbing.  Seems to be a drug thing, they all know one another etc.

All Hail the rise of the criminal underworld as the only way to make a living!!  When people have nothing else - that's all there is.

I have zero confidence in our police to keep peaceable, law-abiding citizens, safe in our communities.

I have no confidence in our police to apprehend and to remove serious/violent criminals from our streets and communities.

Tits on a bull.

I have no confidence in our judicial system [nor its officers] to remove [upon conviction] serious/violent criminals from our streets.

Tits on a bull.

I have no confidence in our political class to instigate useful and practical laws which would authorise [upon conviction] the removal of serious/violent criminals from our streets and our towns and out cities.

Tits on a bull.

.

Proverbs 29:2
When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice:
but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.

Ezekiel 7:23
Make a chain: for the land is full of bloody crimes, and the city is full of violence.
24  Wherefore I will bring the worst of the heathen, and they shall possess their houses:
I will also make the pomp of the strong to cease; and their holy places shall be defiled.
25  Destruction cometh;
and they shall seek peace, and there shall be none.
26  Mischief shall come upon mischief, and rumour shall be upon rumour;
then shall they seek a vision of the prophet;
but the law shall perish from the priest, and counsel from the ancients.
27  The king shall mourn, and the prince shall be clothed with desolation,
and the hands of the people of the land shall be troubled:
I will do unto them after their way, and according to their deserts will I judge them;
and they shall know that I am the LORD.

It is all there.

Wisdom, and warnings.

Within that cultural artifact,
which we have chosen,
......to discard.

Doesn't matter how "tough" these bail laws are if magistrates and judges refuse to apply them.

As Jacinta Allan well knows.    Angry

Very poor discipline in our schools.
My niece , a primary school teacher was telling me that during the week, a classroom in a qld school is trashed by a student , throwing chairs and overturning desks, every 4 minutes.

And teachers are told they are Not to intervene or touch a child and are to wait for the violence to self terminate.

Sounds most dysfunctional to me

I couldn't be a teacher in a school like that.   Roll Eyes

The headmaster of a prestigious Sydney all-boys college who was accused of clipping a student on the back of the head has filed a lawsuit against the school.

Tony George, who has been issued a termination of employment notice by The King’s School in North Parramatta, is suing the school he led for eight years in the Federal Court.

You can't even say, 'enough, Reggie' anymore.  It's assault.

But you can, you must,  maintain that boys can turn into girls. It would be treated as a hate crime and verbal assault If you denied it.
