We all want to live in a peaceful, happy, law abiding society.

But the Northern Territory is the exact opposite and Aborigines are lawless and violent and the NT is dangerous and people are leaving in droves.

So the first step in fixing a problem is coming out of denial and facing the peoplem.

I was an Ambulance driver and first responder and I worked in the Wards and day after day I saw absolute horror.

Let me make this clear straight away - the children were not stolen they were rescued from being starved, neglected, bashed, raped and murdered.

If they had not been taken into care they would not have lived.

Their murder rate is off the scale.

Occam's Razor says the simplest answer is the right one. Aborigines are their own worse enemy - the rest of us fork over $40 Billion to fix them every year but they are their problem.

You have never seen raped and murdered children - I have - and it is not happy and law abiding.

I never sat on the sidelines - you do.

I was there helping them while you do nothing.

A relative of mine works in the Queensland Ambulance Service. She went from being this down-to-earth happy teenage girl to a disillusioned, cranky young woman, in a matter of a year working with QAS. I bet she has seen more horror in a year than you have seen in a lifetime being in the army reserves.

When I was 17 years old, the police showed me a book of dead bodies. They put up with suicides every month. The ambos have to deal with that sort of nonsense moreso than the police (unless the police are the first responders). Let me guess: indigenous people make up a disproportionate number of suicides.

Sometimes I would knock off and go home - crack open a beer and hang my head and cry because of what I saw.

I know what she went through.
