About blood pressure…
Jun 16th, 2025 at 3:52pm

So it’s been up and down for me since my early 40s…. But I just knew I needed to chill and be more zen to keep it down… not good if I’m not constantly in zen mode! Life has more surprises in store.
So a few short years ago whilst in my 60s, I finally succumbed to taking bp meds. Much to my annoyance as I didn’t want to take meds. But I’m told high bp can have silent deadly implications/strokes etc
Well okay I’m taking the bp meds now.
But answer me this….
Why is it, when the doctor took my bp today…it’s 150/89
She asks if I’m taking bp tablets… I answered yes.
She took my bp again soon after, and it reads 135/75

How can it be?
Why the first time so high and within a minute the next reading so normal and nice?

White Coat Fever

White coat fever, also known as white coat hypertension or the white coat effect, refers to a temporary increase in blood pressure that occurs specifically in a medical setting, usually due to anxiety or stress.

I have had that happen too. I think I have 'White Coat fever' to a degree.
My BP improved after retiring and stopping alcohol and coffee.
maybe though I am just a naturally 'high BP' person?

Heart test was good, all other tests are good, I feel fine.

I get white coat fever, and my mother used to get it too.

Have you had a coronary calcium score done?

Quick & easy - takes about 10 to 15 minutes.

Last one cost me $170.

I've had two done - 5 years apart - and scored 0 on both tests   Smiley
