Greens and liberals
Jun 15th, 2025 at 12:42am

One election from absolute annihilation,  greens have been remarkably quiet I confess but old Matt caravan the biggest fossil fuel brown bagger of all brown baggers has put forward the motion amongst nationals to abandon net zero and withdraw from Paris agreement,  hows that gonna work out for the fractured we're united 'coalition' with a moderate liberal as leader ? Tail walking the dog ? It's a disaster rightards lol Grin

It would be very tempting to Labor supporters to get cocky now. But it is a mistake to assume Labor did so well because they have strong support. People don't like them any more than they used to, and for most voters they are only slightly less on the nose that the coalition and the greens. They only got just over 1/3 of first preference votes. The other parties will get their issues sorted out, or be replaced, very quickly.

Correct Lee. As soon as the coalition abandons it's ass-dragging policies on climate change, they will rebound in the polls. Even if they don't, it won't take long for the Teals to coalesce into the major conservative party. The Greens may be content with pursuing populist socialism, but they will eventually realise it is the barrier to them becoming a major party.

So which part of climate change do they need to address?

Extreme weather increasing? - Not according to anyone but World Weather Attribution Group, which uses models to find it is worse, although real world data doesn't support that.

That there is a climate emergency? Nope the models don't support that either.

That CO2 is the control knob on climate? Nope the flies in the face of reality. We have had higher CO2 in the past and that didn't lead to "runaway global
warming".

But please tell us. Wink

The same part they have been promising, but failing, to address for several election cycles. The same part that was supposedly their justification for their nuclear power policy. I'm sure you can figure it out for yourself.

So nothing specific then, merely feelings. Wink

You'll figure it out eventually Lee. The coalition is not as stupid as you make out.

And nor as stupid as you, apparently. You don't even have the guts to define what you believe. Grin Grin Grin Grin
