Natanz is between Qom and Esfahan. I wonder if Israel flew via Jordan and Iraq or via Saudi.

Are those Iranian drones coming towards Israel via Iraqi, Syrian or Saudi air space? (Not Saudi)
Jordanian air space, like the Israeli, is closed.

There is also Syria and Iraq.

Northern Iraq is run by the Kurds and I doubt they would care if Israel was attacking Iran.

Reports of explosions in Tabriz following earlier strikes in East Azerbaijan

Iranian media outlets reported loud explosions in the city of Tabriz on Friday, with some saying the blasts occurred near the airport. According to Fars News Agency, a new explosion was heard in the city minutes ago. The outlet also said around 10 locations in East Azerbaijan province were targeted earlier in the day.

They wouldn't waste their missiles on civilians.

Israel is going after all the missile launch sites to stop any Iranian response.

Israel is about to show the world that Iran has been successfully de-fanged. It has lost its proxies, lost Syria and is now losing its military.

The people of Iran will then have the opportunity to finish the job, like in Syria.

Iran must be furious with Hamas.

The attack by Hamas on 7 October 2023 has really ruined Iran.

The danger for Iran is if it cannot launch a meaningful response, the entire world will see how weak it is. The United States will then dictate the terms of peace. Iran will not have a nuclear program.

1. Did the strikes target residential areas and civilian sites?

Yes. Reports and images confirm that several apartment complexes and non-military buildings were hit at least in Tehran.

2. Were civilians killed or injured in the attacks?

Yes. Dozens of civilians were killed or wounded, though official casualty numbers haven’t been released yet. The victims include women and children.

3. Which Iranian nuclear scientists were killed in the attack?

According to sources, at least six nuclear scientists were killed, including Abdolhamid Minouchehr, Ahmadreza Zolfaghari, Seyed Amirhossein Feqhi, Motlabizadeh, Mohammad Mehdi Tehranchi, and Fereydoun Abbasi.

4. Did the U.S. know about Israel’s attack beforehand?

Yes. Based on Trump’s own statements, the U.S. was aware.

5. Was the U.S. involved in or assisted with Israel’s attack?

While the U.S. hasn’t officially admitted to cooperating with Israel, there are signs of involvement—such as American refueling tankers operating near Iran 24 hours before the strike—along with unofficial reports suggesting U.S.-Israeli coordination.

6. Which Iranian military leaders were martyred in the attacks?

So far, Iran has confirmed the martyrdoms of Major General Mohammad Bagheri (Chief-of-Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces), Major General Hossein Salami (IRGC Commander), and Major General Gholamali Rashid (Khatam al-Anbiya Headquarters Commander).

7. Will Iran retaliate against Israel?

All signs point to a strong response. Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei warned:  “The Zionist regime should expect a harsh punishment. The powerful hand of Iran’s armed forces will not let them go unpunished, God willing. Several of our commanders and scientists were martyred in this attack, but their successors will carry on their mission. By committing this crime, the Zionist regime has sealed its own bitter fate—and it will pay the price."

8. How will this attack impact Iran’s nuclear talks with the U.S.?

Shortly after the attack, Trump urged Iran to return to negotiations. Iran hasn’t issued an official response on the matter yet, but the strikes will likely derail the upcoming sixth round of talks, possibly delaying them indefinitely.

9. What weapons did Israel use in the attack?

Reports indicate Israel primarily fired missiles from F-35 stealth jets. There are also unverified claims that drone swarms may have been used for precision strikes.

10. Which parts of Iran were targeted?

Confirmed strikes hit Tehran, Tabriz, Isfahan, Hamedan, Ahvaz, Khorramabad, Kermanshah, and Qasr-e Shirin.

Iran state media reports new Israeli attack in northwestern city of Tabriz

From Mostafa Salem and Eyad Kourdi

Iranian state media says there has been a fresh Israeli attack,
showing a large plume of smoke rising after an explosion in the northwestern city of Tabriz.

Tasnim news agency said Tabriz Airport was “currently under heavy Israeli attack.”

The Fars news agency said Israel struck Tabriz, without clarifying further, adding that about 10 sites in East Azerbaijan province had been targeted.

CNN has asked the Israeli military for comment.

Iran is being completely dismantled, just like Hezbollah.

I don't think we'll see much of a retaliation from Iran.

Iran has 10s of 1000s of ballistic missiles waiting to be launched.

Trump warns Iran to agree to nuclear deal before "even more brutal" attacks.

US President Donald Trump has warned Iran to agree to a nuclear deal “before there is nothing left,” suggesting that subsequent Israeli attacks on the country will be “even more brutal.”

In a post on Truth Social early on Friday morning, Trump wrote that Iranian leaders “didn’t know what was about to happen. They are all DEAD now, and it will only get worse!”

“There has already been great death and destruction, but there is still time to make this slaughter, with the next already planned attacks being even more brutal, come to an end,” Trump wrote. “Iran must make a deal, before there is nothing left, and save what was once known as the Iranian Empire.”

Negotiations over a new nuclear deal with Iran intensified in recent weeks, but Tehran’s insistence on its right to enrich uranium had proven a major sticking point.

Read Trump’s Truth Social post in full:

“I gave Iran chance after chance to make a deal. I told them, in the strongest of words, to “just do it,” but no matter how hard they tried, no matter how close they got, they just couldn’t get it done. I told them it would be much worse than anything they know, anticipated, or were told, that the United States makes the best and most lethal military equipment anywhere in the World, BY FAR, and that Israel has a lot of it, with much more to come - And they know how to use it. Certain Iranian hardliner’s spoke bravely, but they didn’t know what was about to happen. They are all DEAD now, and it will only get worse! There has already been great death and destruction, but there is still time to make this slaughter, with the next already planned attacks being even more brutal, come to an end. Iran must make a deal, before there is nothing left, and save what was once known as the Iranian Empire. No more death, no more destruction, JUST DO IT, BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE. God Bless You All!”

Impotent Trump says ....

This term, besides destroying, he has achieved nothing else. And it looks like his lack of success will continue through past midterms.

Israeli military says country needs to prepare for "prolonged operation"

From CNN’s Tamar Michaelis and Nadeen Ebrahim
Israel must prepare for “a prolonged operation,” Israeli military spokesperson, Effie Defrin, told reporters on Friday.

“We will continue operating until the war’s objectives are reached,” Defrin said, referring to tensions with Iran as well as Israel’s war in Gaza.

The spokesperson said that Israel is preparing for a response from Iran.

“We know they’re preparing for a response and to fire at us,” he said.

Defrin added that most Iranian drones fired in retaliation toward Israel Friday were intercepted.
