It's like Star Trek and captain Kirk.

...

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said Wednesday that it has used laser weapons

to destroy enemy airborne projectiles during the ongoing conflict,
a revelation that boosts Israel’s strategic technological advantage.

The Jerusalem Post reported:

In a historic breakthrough, the IDF on Wednesday announced that an unnamed laser defense system similar to the much celebrated Iron Beam laser system has shot down dozens of aerial threats during the war.

Head of the Defense Ministry’s Directorate of Research and Development Brig.-Gen. Yehuda Elmakayes stated, “During the war, we deployed several high-power laser system prototypes, resulting in significant achievements, culminating in the world’s first successful high-power laser interceptions on the battlefield.

Iron dome missiles fired = US$50,000+ each
Iron beam = $2

- difficult to use in bad weather.

- range is low (blooming effect)

- slower to take down it's target, so would find it difficult to take down multiple objects.

Obviously would be used in conjunction with iron shield.

Only a short window until other groups have a similar weapon, that can sink/explode ships like oil tankers for $2 a shot.

People all laughed at Star Trek -

they said ohh - such science fiction - that will never happen.

Now the communicator is our mobile phone -
and the photon torpedoes are the Israeli laser.

Marla gets wet over Star Trek. Maybe you should beam her over to your place for some bangers and mash?

You can have her.
Just remember she only goes for blokes with top quality weed
and large appendages.    Grin

And if you look a bit like captain Kirk it would help.

Careful! Peccar might interpret that to mean you think it'd be hot to be teabagged by Earl Grey.
