A Queensland police officer has been spotted apparently losing his cool and taking aim at a driver.
The officer was conducting speed tests on Nicklin Way on the Sunshine Coast about 3pm today when a car that was approaching him did not stop.
The car swerved around the officer and the officer threw his speed radar gun at the window of the passing car.
The P-plater continued to drive along the road.
The incident occurred in a school zone where the speed limit was 40km/h.
Queensland Police said the officer was acting in self-defence and alleged the driver has a number of traffic infringements against his name.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident.

Copper is in deep doo doo, no matter what the motorist did or who they are.

No point demonising the motorist. Copper threw an object at the car, pointlessly angrily, a response no-one in the Force ought to get away with.

Self defence? Garbage.

The car clearly moved to avoid the Copper.

Why do I suspect that Copper is female. Something about their movement suggests it to me, not that it matters one jot.

It's a mystery to me how the Qld Police Force have ID the car and the driver.

That is bullshit.

Anyway, to the subject matter - I support the cop 100%.

He's out there doing a tough, dangerous job and that dickhead motorist was speeding through a school zone and refused to stop.

Hopefully the driver loses his licence for life, gets 6 months in the can and the cop gets on with the job.

My niece was knocked down by a speeding motorist in a 40 zone - I understand the copper's frustration.
