So now it's out that Biden has Stage 9 (of 10 stages) aggressive prostate cancer, the question is: how long ago did he know he had a serious medical condition?

Although it's strictly confidential, a national secret, even, given the alleged frequency of health checks presidents go through, it's hard to believe Biden and his family were unaware of his condition before now.

After Reagan was shot in 1980, according to his son, the family were aware of his decline soon after he left hospital and, while it became a national concern in 1983, the Republican Party chose to support him as their candidate anyway for his second term, which he barely scraped through.

How long has he known? He only found out on Friday of last week, if you read the articles on various news websites. It apparently was discovered during a recent health check due to increased urinary symptoms. This suggests an increase in the frequency of urinating, which is a symptom of prostate cancer.

Having said that, I still believe he should have retired at the end of his term as President so that the Democrats could have picked a candidate and that person could have had more than the 100 or so days Harris had to campaign against Trump. I still believe that Pete Buttigieg would have beaten Trump had Biden retired and not run for re-election - had the Democrats picked him instead of Harris. Buttigieg would've wiped the floor with Trump, in my opinion, and had Trump somehow prevailed then I think the margin would have been far slimmer. Certainly, I don't think the Republicans would've controlled both chambers of Congress.

A new precedent has been set when it comes to presidential medical records. They no longer need to be accurate or realistic, so I don't think any of this matters, even if Biden was still in office.

Alternative facts are the way forward these days.

To get to stage 9, the cancer had to progress from stage 1 through to stage 9. Unless he'd had no prostate check at all, despite his advanced years, and unless he'd not had regular health checks, which is the norm for a HOS / HOG, then maybe he didn't know.

As the Reagan family knew that Ronald was declining as early as 1981 and kept it secret, as did the US government, so too it's likely the Biden family and US government did the same.

If Biden knew he had a serious medical condition when he insisted he run for a second term, even over the internal and public doubts about his health, then he put himself before his country and the role a US president plays in world affairs.

When do the best interests of the country (and the world) countermand the right to medical privacy and the state secrecy of health issues of a potential next HOS/HOG?

In a statement released on Sunday (US time), Mr Biden’s office announced the 82-year-old was diagnosed with prostate cancer which has metastasised to the bone, after experiencing urinary symptoms.

“On Friday, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, characterised by a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5) with metastasis to the bone,” the statement read.

“While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive which allows for effective management.”

Taking to social media hours after re-sharing a post wishing Mr Biden a speedy recovery, the eldest son of US President Donald Trump speculated how the cancer had been missed until last week.

According to the statement, Mr Biden’s cancer was found to have “a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5).” Prostate cancer that looks “very abnormal” is assigned the highest rating, Grade 5, according to the American Cancer Society. This is different from a cancer’s stage, which refers to the extent of which it has spread through the body.

The British do the same thing with the Monarch. QE2 died peacefully of 'old age'... no reference to any progressing disease that ultimately killed her.

He had no idea what was going on. It all fell apart obviously at the debate and suddenly Kamala was in the spotlight which gave the public a actual vote for who they wanted.
