The only real currency we have is time.

As we get older, we tend to realise that more.  With that experience comes an understanding that you don't owe anyone your time by default, it has to be earned.

And we get better at determining who is worthy of that time.  Friends, family, but not even all family.

If you have to rely on "blood is thicker than water" to maintain relationships, you're often the problem.

With age also comes a refined sense of IDGAF.  You look out for yourself and those you care about without worrying what others think.

At least in my opinion, that results in the outward appearence of avoiding more people as you age, when in reality you've just strengthened your inner circle and those you've brought in know that a they can call you at 2am to ask for help to force their way into a house party to help rescue their child who called just before passing out because she partied too hard and your response will be "where am I meeting you and how many of us do you need".

Short version, with wisdom comes the ability to cut worthless fake relationships from your life and focus on those who matter, those who need you and those you need in return.

And if you are an old idiot you say you want to avoid someone then try and get unbanned from that person’s forums. Doesn’t get more stupid than that.

So you are not avoiding me.

So why start this crap thread?

Gawd but you are STUPID!

Monk,
you tick most of those boxes:

1. Those who exploit your guilt

2. The perpetual victim

3. People who dismiss your boundaries

4. Those who come too close too fast
5. People who never apologise or admit fault

6. The controlling opportunist masked as a caregiver
7. People who only show up when they need something

You can REALLY see how high school dropout and OzPol killer Booby is “avoiding” me:

And:

I WISH the dull clod and high school dropout and OzPol killer WOULD avoid me! Alas!
