Who is Ali France?

Strong woman.

Who is Ali France, the Labor candidate who has unseated Peter Dutton in Dickson?

Ali France, the Labor candidate who is the first person to unseat an opposition leader at an election, is a disability advocate, former journalist and world champion para-athlete.

She has defeated the Liberal leader, Peter Dutton, at her third effort at the seat of Dickson, in Brisbane’s west.

For the past 24 years, it has been held by Dutton, now the leader of the Liberal party and opposition leader. She is the daughter of former Labor Queensland MP Peter Lawlor.

France lost her eldest son, Henry, to leukaemia last year. She has another son, Zac, who was with her when she was involved in an accident that led to her losing a leg in 2011.

She's the strongest evidence that Dickson wanted to inflict maximum damage on the LNP and Dutton personally.

I wish her well, even though she’ll be a supporter of Steam Submarines.

No wonder there was so much emotion in Dutton’s voice during his concession speech.

Ali France says that her time in hospital after losing a leg to a dangerous driver she successfully saved her young won from was the start of her political career. She would use her time in hospital to talk to other patients and families about their experiences and vowed to become a champion for Medicare. After all, it saved her life.

Here is a woman who took trauma and tragedy and turned it into a force for the greater good. And now she is reaching down to help others up.

A brilliant addition to a government and an example to us all.

.. daughter of another former politician - we should just make all seats generational, a few at a time so the peons don;t notice in between the beach and the beer - so as to set in train and approach finalisation of the move to impose Neo-Feudalism and an entrenched aristocracy on all Australians - just so those from the Third World can feel at home, and also find an avenue for their grasping nature by trying to get a slot in the New Aristos...

Not only are we cursed here with 'career politicians' - we are also increasingly being cursed with their offspring - chips off the old blocks...  just make the seats hereditary and leave it at that - Australia's House Of Lords  ... Lady Downer has the floor.... Lady Hanson please do not interrupt .... Lady Carr.... please be seated ....

Why not just reverse all the upward mobility in genuine equalities and rights for all and simply install a new aristocracy to rule over us all?  Bob Hawke - flawed as he was - would turn over in his grave....
