I'm betting they treated her bad, hitting the dog often with a stick, so to speak. In the end, such treatment, got the adverse retaliation and they paid for it.

At least the husband didn't have his penis chopped off.

I'm betting thousands of women are now looking into mushrooms as a way out against those who have treated them bad. Her mental condition and decline tells me, that she was mentally abused by Husband and his gang up on her family.
Evil beats evil.

She will have 30 years at least to suffer for her crimes.
She is going to such a hell hole that she'd be better off dead:

The Dame Phyllis Frost Centre in Victoria, a maximum-security women's prison, has been the subject of reports detailing poor conditions and human rights abuses. These include instances of solitary confinement, inadequate healthcare, and a lack of support for prisoners, leading to increased incidents of self-harm. There have also been concerns about the frequency and impact of lockdowns, as well as issues with water quality and access to basic necessities like food and clean water.

Sounds like a good prison doing its job.
