DEFENCE-Could 'earth shattering' events,
upend our worlds current 'strategic boundaries' ?
If 'tomorrow', our worlds strategic boundaries were shifted, by some sudden, 'earth shattering' political/military events......It would be prudent, for a nation like Australia,
to have thought about how we could best defend ourselves, and the borders, of this nation [from a massed foreign assault].
Particularly, if there were no other alternative, and if we were all, compelled to do so [defend this nation], and quickly.
It would be prudent, if Australia's Department of Defence
already had national plans 'drawn up',
which describe how our Australian government could best act,
to set in motion, requirements which could best ensure how this nation could be defended,
....if we were on our own [or perhaps 'defending ourselves', in conjunction with our neighbour, N.Z.].
BUT WHY ?In early 2025
the U.S.A. still has the worlds most powerful military......i'm assuming.
[....and, the U.S.A. government also seems eager, to still promote that assumption - 'abroad'.]
And in 2025, we [Australians] regard the 'U.S.A.' as 1/ our principal military ally and 2/ protector AND 3/ our nations
reliable provider of military/defence equipment.
But the reality is, that in 2025, we do appear today, to live in a very uncertain world.
And 'what if', 'the day after tomorrow', for some very apparent reason ['in that day'],
the 'U.S.A.' suddenly, became unable OR unwilling, to be our 'force multiplier',
in the defence of our, Australian nation and borders ?
And is that, such a wild and impossible 'up-ended' scenario ?
p.s.
I hope someone in the Department of Defence has the Owen Gun plans locked away, in a safe place.
[laugh]
Why the Owen Gun was the best submachine gun of WW2
(and beyond).

Thoughts ?
Could Australians
competently defend our shores [on our own],
if this nation was invaded by a hostile force ?
