Dutton should go one step further from his cuts to migration and put a hold on permitting foreigners buying residential property in Australia. That's what's having a huge impact on the rental and house sales markets. Too few houses available for rent with too many people looking for a place to rent.

Units and apartments went up 14% the last 8 months in a suburb next to mine.
(SE Melbourne)
People will pay anything to get a humble roof over their head.
50 or 60 people line up to rent a little one bedroom flat at high rental prices.

Albo doesn't care about people at all,  at all,  at all.

I read an article in a newspaper last weekend showing a photo of an enclosed balcony for rent in Sydney at $250 a week and I thought, this is just ridiculous. I actually think it's harder to get a rental than it is for a home loan these days, which is just insane. It's only gotten worse under Labor.

yes, funny how the it takes longer to build a house then destroy it ... and the libs have spent ten years destroying the economy. Inflation is lower now then it was when they took over so the road to recovery is starting, but it can't happen in one term. NOTHING the libs have suggested will curb property price rises and rent increases ... nothing. The only thing that might have had a real impact would have been cuts to CGT and NG ... but the libs made sure that would never happen.

Dutton also wants to streamline the public service.

by increasing spending an extra $20B per YEAR on contractors Cheesy Cheesy

At least Dutton has a genuine plan for that other than a handout - a gas reservation policy will help in bringing down electricity prices whereas Albo's rebates do nothing.

he has no gas reservation policy. He has refused to make it a law .. according to him the gas companies will do it because he has asks them Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

both you and mr potato are deluded

Can you show us where Dutton said he will not make a gas reservation policy law?

Can you show where he did? he's your man, show everyone the details of his plan.

Poor Fellow - My Country - we cannot afford another three years of this modern Labor disaster on the social front, for a start... then there is the reality of the huge cost of this 'renewables' nonsense when China has nearly 1300 coal fired stations and is killing the planet IF that is ever going to do so... and nuclear works out a third as costly over sixty years of 'life'.... the rising costs of living, the mass immigration madness with no solid benefit crowding the cities to disaster point like a true Third World degenerate country ... the REFUSAL of governments to confront HOMING in their own homes for most ..... then the 'gender' madness not even addressed here in 'government' while the rest of the world apart from the Darkened United States is reversing that madness .... the utter lack of any reliable forward plan for this nation apart from subjugation to Offshore billionaire new robber barons hiding in pirate safety tax havens and paying nothing to Australia compared to the billions they reap ... the looming disaster of the current superannuation paradigm for many ... the never-ending division along true gender (M/F, M/W), racial and ethnic lines alongside the new putsch along 'work type' lines, with 'Labor' giving, like the true Feudal Lords they are becoming, favour to its chosen ones while excluding the rest ... industrial relations is a travesty and a disaster along the same neo-Feudal lines and is nowhere helped to sanity again by the mass introduction of Offshore vultures who do not live by our values ...

And then we have nothing in the way of a viable Opposition to replace them, given the dreadful history of the 'right' here.

Everyone in Australia knows these things..... even you dorks here who parrot party lines - and yet nobody does anything to change them - least of all you voters out there who will slavishly do as you are told and vote for the majors again, thus cementing the disasters in place for another three years.

Look at it this way Grap, if the Coalition don't beat Labor or form a minority government of their own, at least you'll have a reason to continue with the victimhood and loser mentality, not like how you continued to after the Voice went your way.

Your lose mentality will be legitimised for the next few years, that's something to celebrate at least.

I think everyone needs not worried.

Take into account past performance.

Nothing will happen for at least 18 months as Albo and Jodo will be off on another tour of duty visiting countries and holding hands.

Mid term we can expect the Australian wedding of the century so all politicians will drop tools and gush for photo ops.

By the time that hysteria has died away we will be back in election mode with more Albo travel and promises will be given thick and quick about the same things we suffer now.

Nothing will change. Cost of living will continue to raise.
Housing will become more desperate for anyone but the very rich and I can guarantee our politicians will receive a pay rise.

Check back on this post in three years.

Tigers can’t change their stripes.

That is something that I didn't like about the first Albo term.  They had the chance to do more, but didn't.

It's like the Voice referendum took a lot for them to recover from.

That said, those who don't support Labor complain about their inaction, but they'd complain harder if they got more done, so there is really no winning with those types of people.

Who cares, there is no good answer here. The Liberals had the option of going with a leader who could win and chose not too. If they lose its their own fault.
