What would you have done Bobby? If you were there in that Shopping Mall seeing that guy with the knife stabbing people like that mother and her child?
Pull out your Bible? Thoughts and prayers?
What if he came at you?

A chair is the best defence against a knife.

The 4 legs offer considerable protection.

How come that boofhead copper from Wagga Wagga didn't know that?

It might have helped disarm that deadly 95 yr old granny in the Nursing home - instead of tazering her resulting in her dying.

You see it happening on that TV show - Australian Border Security.

They bring in suitcases & suitcases full of illegal food & plant material...... they never declare it ...

then they plead ignorance - no speak English etc.

That's only a fraction that they do find - shyteloads must get through.

"If you were there in that Shopping Mall seeing that guy with the knife stabbing people like that mother and her child?"

I'd have probably run at him, hands in the air, screaming for mercy, until I saw his confusion - at which point I would probably - at age 76, have flying kicked him to anywhere ... leg... pelvis... chest... whichever came first... and then when he collapsed in agony, have grabbed his arm, taken and thrown away the knife, and put my foot  on his head with his arm outstretched in my hands while turning his wrist the wrong way around, while he was screaming in agony... and then kicked him in the head three or four or five times.....

... but I'm a gentle soul....

Some guys I know would just play hand games with him, and then break his neck... or if they were nice, put a 'sleeper' hold on him pending arrest.

Is Victoria actually a safe place to visit?

Unless you can find a way to earn a minimum of $300000 a year in Australia you’re screwed.

Don’t even think about being able to afford children at that  bare minimum threshold.

Probably safer than Mogadishu. My eldest son was robbed at knifepoint by Sudanese a coupla years ago. Me? I wouldn't live in any capital city.

Edit for the pedants: I know Mogadishu is in Somalia not Sudan, same diff though.

A whole video on it.

1 hour and 6 minutes showing many machete attacks:

Today on the Matt Walsh Show,
Australia imported the third world en masse and now the country is plagued by machete-wielding gangs.
They’ve come up with a bold way to deal with these problems:
by asking the gang members to please turn in their machetes.

So, once again, a ban on something that only honest people will comply. Ya really reckon the crookedy crooks will?   Roll Eyes

So there’s plenty more items we could use to our defence I’m certain. Fireplace tools are always in my sight if ever I need a nice iron bar with a pointy hook at end.

I’m thinking learning from the circus about knife throwing!
Plenty knives in the kitchen!

But… this new law against machetes with a fine and jail sentence…. Maybe good?
So the machete mad primates can go to jail instead of getting released on bail for the 60th time?
That I’d like to see!  Angry

Waving a machete in public should be punishable by shooting on sight...

I can throw knives and have the point stick in.... it's a learned art... not the kind of thing you really want though - most knives thrown that way don't do the job.

Next there’ll be a ban on battery powered chain saws.
Just wait till the bad guys go high tech.[18 volt for real power].

Man scares off five Sudanese car jackarses armed with machetes.
A professional mediaeval festival performer. He just happened to produce a Longsword  🗡️ for his self defence. Grin

As Crocodile Dundee said "That's not a knife... 🔪"

The Media, Albanese and the Left have charged the man with Racism.

Best story of self defence!
Yet… really, charged him with racism?

It's a win in Victoria for armed home invaders.
The law is on their side.

Paywalled.

Victorians would be free to forcefully fight back against home intruders without consequence
under a bold proposal to bolster the state’s self-defence laws.

There was a vote in the last day in the Victorian parliament
about re-introducing castle laws to help people defend their homes.

The only article I can find from the Herald Sun is paywalled.

Outrage as self-defence law change rejected by single vote
The Allan government has voted against a review of the state’s self-defence laws,
despite Victorians facing a record surge in violent home invasions.

Motion to review self-defence laws rejected in 18 to 17 vote of MPs.
