Trump pardons violent Jan 6 offenders
Jan 22nd, 2025 at 7:52am

At first, it seemed as though Trump was going to follow through with his statements regarding pardoning those morons who were involved in the attempted coup slash insurrection on January 6, but that he most likely would extend that pardon only to non-violent offenders such as those caught for trespassing for example. Appalling, but not surprising given who we are talking about.

Overnight, it's become known that this is not the case, and that he has actually issued pardons to those who committed acts of violence on that shameful day. What a farce. I mean, in what reality does anyone think that it's okay for these people to storm the Capitol Building in order to stop Congress from ensuring the peaceful transfer of power just because they don't like the result? He is essentially saying it is okay for people to overthrow a democratically elected government in America if they don't agree with who the winner of the election is. It makes a mockery of his claims to be a law and order President when he allows those facing trial or already convicted of acts of violence when his deranged mob of cult members tried to stop Congress from certifying Biden's election win.

Trump was always the worst President in US history in my book after his disastrous first term in office. His actions so far in his second term have only cemented that view.

He has now given white extremists and far-right terrorists the green light to commit any act of violence in his name.

And this signal from his VP/First Lady is the sign they were waiting for:

I believe that's what is known as 'poetic justice'.

I doubt it. These are his true supporters. The shooters who tried to kill him are real Republicans who disagree with what he is doing to their party. At least, that's my take on it. And no, I'm not saying they're right for trying to kill him.

Noted, all of those pardoned, was found guilty by trial of juries, who are made of different political alignments, including Republicans.  Some were sentenced to 17 to 18 years in jail.  Now they are out.

It is not just a signal for future violence.  It is a demoralising blow to all of the police men and women who protected all those politicians that day, including some.republicans who are now cheering for this executive order.

USA is a VERY strange place.

That a convicted felon and twice impeached former President was even allowed to run beggars belief. What’s even more bizarre is that despite being an American citizen since 1983 and a former state Governor, a law forbids Arnold Schwarzenegger from ever running for President because he was not born in America, but a convicted felon and twice impeached former President can run no worries and could have even theoretically ran the country from prison if he’d been convicted prior to being elected!

Footnote: I’m not saying I’d like to see Schwarzenegger as President, I was simply using him as an example to make the point.

Does that include the people that Binen has placed outside the law, is that a signal for future violence?.

Joe Biden commuted Leonard Peltier's life sentence to home confinement.  Calls for his clemency from a vaiety of world leaders and organisations began in early 2000s.    Where as, Trump pardoned criminals, allowing them to walk free.

He has set free two in particular - from the so-called Proud Boys - who were sentenced to 22 and 18 years respectively for planning to overthrow the government (essentially, I can't remember the exact wording of the sentencing). What he has done is literally let these fools know that if the next election doesn't go the way they want it to, it's open season on the Capitol. He calls them patriots and hostages. They are nothing of the sort. They're cowards and criminals, plain and simple and nothing Trump or anyone else says will change this undeniable truth.

The only things Trump knows are doing things that benefit himself first of all and secondly, his family. Thirdly, doing things that please his cult members and last but not least, punishing those who have wronged him, be it real or imagined.

Trump doesn't know anything about who he pardoned or what got them in trouble?

Who knew?

...

I wonder who is really in charge?
