Fire safe critters

I have stated I live in a wooen house in a high fire risk area. LOVE (not!) seeing big pine trees everywhere  Sad

So been thinking and talking about changing the cladding. My idea: change the wood for fibrous cement on all sides of the house. Someone in the building trade suggested instead: galvo on the sides and back and a Tassie hardwood, forget the exact name, on the front.

Maybe.

End of this year will start seriously considering this, getting quotes. Have two wooden sheds

Another partly related project: buy a 20,000L rainwater tank. Just my garage should harvest 19,000+ litres a year. Buy a water pump—use the water to irrigate my trees but also use it to drive sprinklers that can cast volumes of water at least 20-30 metres.

LOL, I emailed the local council, asking for their fireplan. Still waiting. Pathetic!
