What if humanity is the galaxy’s only advanced civilization?

Brian Cox examines why, despite billions of stars and trillions of planets,
we have found no evidence of other intelligent life.

May be they are too advanced for humanity to find?

There probably were other civilizations but they have long since gone extinct.

One could have existed say a billion years ago,
say - 1,000 light years from us and all that is left are fossils.

The chances of 2 advanced civilizations existing at the same time are very small.
We've only had radio communications for about 130 years -
a brief moment in time compared to the 13 billion years
of history of the Milky Way galaxy.

"The international committee responsible for the official scenarios that feed into climate modeling, which are the basis for most projective climate research and the assessments of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), has just published the next generation of climate scenarios. [some emphasis, links added]

Big news: The new framework has eliminated the most extreme scenarios that have dominated climate research over much of the past several decades — specifically, RCP8.5, SSP5-8.5, and SSP3-7.0.

This is an absolutely huge development in climate science that will have lasting impacts across research and policy."

That should spell the end of the doom and gloom AGW/CC predictions. Smiley
