Neither the characteristic way they look nor the way they behave, think, interact (culture) can be divorced from the other characteristics. Race is a shorthand to what all of us readily recognise in this regard.
When you tell an African and a Japanese apart, you are recognising their racial differences. Ditto when looking at whites and Chinese or Aborigines and Irish.

Is one ethic or racial group's culture better than another's? Evidently, without any doubt. There would be no different cultures if they had no cultural differences, obviously.
