i rarely hear him say anything negative about any individual

his podcast is always uplifting and optomistic.

he is the epitome of the "big tent" kind of guy

i have never seen him try for a "gotcha" moment

harris could have gone on there and it would have been a super friendly warm chat about whatever she wanted to talk about

the guy is a uniter not a divider

they guy is super generous

he is owned by no one

he has talked to the full range of people from his hunting pals to people like russell crowe, gadd saad, the rock, post malone, jimmy carr, peter zeehan, destiny, coleman hughes, bjirn longberg, steve o, steven pressfield

Largely true, particularly from a few years back, but recently the rot has set in.

He is often duped by frauds, whom he has taken to defending like a tag team, particularly when they are pushing conspiracy themes he enjoys - even to the point of defaming those true experts who challenge the frauds.

The Trump interview was Rogan at his worst, revealing that he is most vulnerable to truly professional influencers, like Trump, who has spent a lifetime in the public spotlight and has melded his entrepreneurial experience with political experience.

It was pathetic to see that he was putty in Trump's hands.

He ranted in lockstep with Trump about the lies of Harris and Walz yet did not challenge Trump on a single contentious issue or many of Trump's lies or exaggerations.

In contrast, Theo Von - the dufus in chief - proved less vulnerable than Rogan.

It appears Rogan imagines himself as 'up with it' as those he interviews - probably basing this solely on his popularity.

He is a gifted conversationalist but, outside his areas of expertise, he ranks very low as an insightful interviewer.

The problem with entertainment and infotainment is that, when it crosses into the political, if you like it, you'll fall in line with it.

Not that it's anything new... Politicians, like all public figures whose survival is predicated on popularity, have always pulled stunts to enhance their likeability/relatability.

Actually sometimes the ABC is very good.

eg discussing a new book about the nature of money, on RN this morning.

Though disappointingly the author of the book didn't mention that money is created out of thin air, he only obliquely referred to money as a "magic technology".

Nevertheless, what commercial outfit would even discuss the nature of money, which is at the very heart of our modern technological civilization.....and yet is also "the source of all evil"?

As to Rogan, I haven't heard him....but I'm picking up he is the consumate RW shock-jock, another brain dead Conservative.

Said by Rogan during a conversation with Eric Weinstein who politely side-stepped agreeing with Rogan, responding instead with his theory on the tyranny of cosmic distance being avoidable such that aliens could, in theory, both be here and not be here at the same 'time'.

Rogan was pleased with that. It confirmed for him that aliens could still be watching over us - like a scene out of 'Dumb and Dumber'.

It's this kind of humouring of Rogan by many of his guests that has over-inflated Rogan's perception of what he thinks he knows.

I don't think that is a conspiracy theory.

A conspiracy theory has to be about official propaganda. Often it targets real 'conspiracy, ie deliberate political false narratives. Sometimes it sees conspiracy where there is only stupidity and incompetence.

The ABC is not politically impartial in its current affairs coverage. It is obvious to any cursory observer - but NOT to ABC cadres. Which side is conspiring here, to present a deliberately false view?
