To me, the proof that we have useless governments run by stupid, selfish politicians these days is when Albanese comes out with "We're all doing it" as an excuse.

So, that makes it OK, does it? We're all rorting the system so it doesn't really matter. Same as when they get their outrageous pay rises every year from the so called "independent body that sets politicians' pay".

I have no objection to upgrades at time of flight when seats are available..... but this is way beyond that.

I would consider it more decent to offer - say - disabled people like my ex I'm carer for and her carer a sweet lounge and special treatment and upgrades as a matter of policy when seats are available.... fat cats do all right already... no need for more cream, and it stinks of corruption for a politician to accept any gifts - especially when there is a near immediate result in favour of the giver.

Country needs a massive overhaul in the way it's run...

Which reminds me - all these immigrants - how much money earned here vanishes by being sent 'home' to either families poor, or being invested in vast tracts of cheap properties - as used to occur in Lebanon and still does ... etc...  you live one room here - buy skyscraper with penthouse back 'home' for ten dullah one week!

A few short years back a Filipino tradie was on about ten bucks a week... think what you could buy and build... you can buy a house with orchard in many countries for $7k.

How much cash vanishes Offshore from this nation while the Plebs continue to pay taxes and spend all their Tent City cash back into the eekonomy, while slowly subsiding into the slime of equality with all worldwide by sharing the poverty across the board?

Tax other than PAYE, big businesses, and control over national cash flow are virtually non-existent.... along with control over the excesses of politicians and their appointed mates in The Old Buddy's Club....
