New Japanese Aircraft Carrier

https://www.msn.com/en-au/news/other/japan-puts-a-knife-in-putin-s-back-with-fir...

"Japan has taken a significant step in bolstering its military power with the launch of its first aircraft carrier since World War II, the JS Kaga.

This modernized vessel, originally a helicopter destroyer, successfully hosted the landing of an F-35B fighter jet on October 20 near San Diego, marking a major milestone in Japan's defense strategy.

The Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force announced that the trial was a success, marking the first time a combat aircraft has landed on a Japanese carrier since the end of the Second World War, according to WP.

The trials will continue over the coming days, involving both Japanese and American F-35B aircraft as well as cooperation with U.S. Navy specialists. This collaboration is part of Japan's larger effort to enhance its defense capabilities in response to growing regional tensions.

The F-35B jets, which are capable of short takeoff and vertical landing (STOVL), were part of a purchase agreement between Japan and the U.S. in 2020.

These highly advanced jets measure over 15 meters in length, with a wingspan of 10 meters, and are capable of carrying up to 7 tons of weaponry. Their maximum speed reaches Mach 1.6, making them a formidable addition to Japan’s military forces.

This development is seen as "a knife in Putin’s back" for several reasons. Firstly, Japan’s military expansion directly challenges Russia’s strategic interests in the Asia-Pacific region, where Moscow has sought to maintain influence.

Russia’s eastern borders, especially near the Kurile Islands, have been a longstanding point of tension with Japan. The launch of Japan’s aircraft carrier, paired with advanced F-35B fighter jets, complicates Russia’s military calculus in the region, diminishing Moscow’s dominance and increasing Japan’s deterrence power.

Furthermore, this comes at a time when Russia is already stretched thin due to its ongoing war in Ukraine. With Japan now boosting its naval strength in cooperation with the U.S., Russia faces an increasingly powerful military force on its eastern front, further isolating Putin’s regime.

The JS Kaga, along with its sister ship JS Izumo, are expected to be fully operational by 2027."

Putin has successfully expanded NATO and energised the West to send weapons into the previous Soviet Union area. China is now uniting most of the world against its China Sea grip. It's a strange  outcome for their old 'workers of the world unite' dream.

Notice that there is no meeting of all countries in the Asia Pacific region
to try and sign a verifiable arms reduction treaty?

All sides are undergoing an unrestrained arms buildup with no end in sight.
An arms race can only lead to war.

Indonesia just won the Chinese War.

China was defeated and President Prabowo Subianto held a victory parade around his back yard.

No room for cowards on that mission.
Low on fuel? - I would have returned to fight another day.

Grappler is a total tosser. It is not a real aircraft carrier and the F35 that landed in a test was the model with vertical take-off and landing capabilities.

This "carrier" would last 5 minutes in a war before it would be hit by a missile.

Japan's military is not credible by design and by popular opinion against war.

Australia should be purchasing a carrier for F-35B operations like the US Wasp-class or America class amphibious assault carriers used by the US Marines. The LHD's that we've got are next to useless without the ability to carry these fighter aircraft. It really was shortsighted by the government and Navy not to include the necessary modifications in order to allow these jets to operate from those ships if the need arose in future. Instead we've got ships with ski jumps that are about as useful as a third nipple. What a joke!

The next good thing will be drone on drone dogfights. They will be more manueverable as biplanes, with machine gun firing through the propellor. From drone aircraft-carriers of course, made by 3D printer. Command will be AI.

Anti drone drones have been used in battle all this year already by both AFRu and AFU.
Also I have recorded video of RC drone dogfights more then 10 years ago near Tamworth in Au not by military but by RC drones enthusiasts, they have meeting once a year every year.
