For a crim like Trump, the thrill lies in getting away with it, and everybody knowing he got away with it. He'd see an interviewer like Rogan as a pussy.

Of course that’s true. Law enforcement agencies rely on ‘the brag’ – the narcissistic compulsion to admit to crime and how they ‘got the money and got away’.

With Trump, however, there’s that and more going on.

For one there’s his compulsion to lie when it's easier to tell the truth.

Then there’s something else… deeper and more psychiatric: he doesn’t know he’s lying – as if he’s a semi-awake somnambule living in a dreamscape - when a hundred people are cheering him on, he ‘sees’ thousands, When things around him are falling apart, he ‘sees’ positive progress. When a business is descending into financial ruin, he ‘sees’ fantastical profits.

When called out on a lie, he’s often genuinely apoplectic… there ‘really were’ thousands at all of his rallies – he ‘saw’ them.

This third component has proved the most dangerous due to a very specific talent, one that he shares with the likes of Jim Jones and L Ron Hubbard: he can project his dreamscape deep into the psyche of the gullible and the troubled. There ‘really are’ thousands at his rallies. Haitians ‘really are’ rounding up dogs and cats in Ohio and eating them, He ‘really can’ solve all the world’s problems with one phone call. Kids ‘really are’ leaving home in the morning as boys and coming home as girls.

Trump ‘sees’ it and therefore so do they.

Unfortunately for all of us, the American psyche has an almost limitless capacity for projecting what-ifs into its conscious as if they were real—Utopia/Dystopia Now—such that many Americans can live in the dreamscape of a world as they’d want it to be. This makes them great storytellers in words, film, and song… But it also makes them susceptible, en masse, to living and functioning in psychosis - and dragging the rest of us into it - e.g. the Australian obsession with Trump.

And Trump is psychologically calibrated to exploit it... as L Ron Hubbard openly admitted of himself.

What an eyewateringly moronic generalisation - the American psyche.  Presumably that includes everyone hot for Kamala, too, from Obama to Biden and everyone in between.

You have said a lot of incredibly stupid things over the years, and this has been yet another of them.

A common theme with pro-Trumpians in Australia is effeminate bitchy apoplexy in his defence.

Trump threw them a bone, so to speak, during the Rogan interview with his lingering descriptions of the physique of Air Force One male pilots... Even Rogan - a comedian and usually capable of taking out-of-left-field digressions to a comical place - was momentarily silenced.

Calling your evidently stupid utterances stupid is not apoplectic. Climb down from your imaginary high horse. You ridiculously and stupidly overestimate yourself.

My guess is that Trump is honing in on another demographic -  gay men and crossdressers, by throwing in talk on a subject close to their hearts - men's cocks.

My god the magnitudes of which you don't know what you're talking about are covered by.

Gay men and "cross dressers"? A demographic being targeted?

Are you 90?

I thought you younger because i'm convinced your a virgin but i'm seriously questioning myself now.

Good thing i didn't make any grandiose judgements already.

What's the bet down the hollers of Appalachia there'll soon be men fiddling with each other's junk 'cos they think Trump told them that's what real men do.

Among the Havard-educated Republican Congress, they'll be supporting Trump in a new group - The Mens Cox League.

Kamala's top handler and string puller, Ian Sams, says Kamala won't be going on Joe Rogan's podcast after all due to scheduling.

A wise move.

Joe Rogan's podcast is not the right place for campaigning politicians...

Over 3 hours of interview, Rogan creates the atmosphere of a fly-on-the-wall perspective of round-the-dinner-table conversations, often including after-dinner drinks and a joint or two.

Way too laid back for candidates who need to stay on message.

Rogan, wearing his bro hat, discusses his thoughts on his conversation with Trump.

Very wise move indeed.

Leave the circus stunts - "working" in McDonald's and going on bro podcasts etc. - to the clown.

Given on his other channel - the JRE Fight Companion, despite Rogan insisting he wanted to interview her, he and his mates lampooned Harris.

They're like a bunch of 10-year-old boys bullying the new kid at school.

Why on earth would Kamala want to associate herself with that sort of childish nonsense?

rogan is a pretty likeable guy
he's tough physically, eternally curious
he seems to fenuinely like people, from bernie sanders to elon musk , from zuckerburg to JFK. , from glen greenwald to mike tyson

he;s certainly a guy who brings people together

he is the most popular person in pdocasting which is really to say he is the most popular person in the media.

he is a white masculine version of oprah.

any leftie who hates rogan has probably never listened to him
any rightie who hates oprah has probably never listened to her

they are both right at the top of the pile in terms of communication skills

people who hate on them are probably right at the bottom

I guess it's par for the course... Trump was on Theo Von's podcast - The Dufus in Chief of the Brosphere!

If they do it with one, they often do the rounds with the crew - Rogan, Williamson, Peterson, Bilyeu &etc.

Rogan will not be a hard taskmaster as an interviewer - it's not his style - he's a conversationalist.

Well... 3 hours of it...

3 hours?!

3 hours of Trump and Rogan?

There's not enough money in the world that could convince me to watch that bullshit.

Did Rogan lick the rapist's arse?

Not so much arselicking as polite accommodation and avoidance of directly challenging a guest (CNN's Dr Sanjay Gupta being a notable exception who tried to defend CNN's lying about Rogan and ivermectin).

As a conversationalist, that's Rogan's style.

Almost every guest who's met Rogan for the first time - from Brian Cox to Sir Roger Penrose to even Trump - has commented at the end of an interview, how at ease they felt, and that 3 hours seemed to have flown by.

So no endless gweggy turdy, karnalesque "gotcha" interruptions and yeah-butting? Letting guests speak for themselves? No constant corrections and challenges to toe the thought and speech police line?
How tewwible.

No, dear boy, that would not be terrible.

Joe finished his sentences, helped him along and explained his election theft lies for him. Joe did a Tucker, without the shrieks and giggles.

Why, Meister's talking about you, dear boy: a card-carrying fascist who dresses in mainstream conservative stripes.

You regurgitate the lies yourself. You project, and you'll defend your DL to your last gasp.

As far as we can tell, that was in the early 2000s, so you'll even defend him from the grave. You're a cult-following cadaver who's so far in that if your DL loses next month, you'll die a second time.

Not sure how you're going to go back to mainstream politics after that, dear boy.

Might be best to just join the Nazis and head off to Stormfront.
