Is the bird's beak orange sort of colour? It is hard to see in the light.

Judging by horizon colour you steam in southern direction. So what is next port, is it Italian east coast or pirate coast of eastern Adriatic or straight to Ionian sea and Greek Islands?

I paid for satellite ship internet $105 for the week… it was pathetic and slow yesterday/last night… I signed in and then couldn’t post or sign out!
Looks as if I’ve been online all night  Grin

It’s a bit better signal now so I write.

Yesterday we went to Montenegro Kotor.
Went onto a man made island with a church , our lady of the rock or something like that.
The guide was terrible, screamy voice with learned American English.
Anyway, I’m enjoying porridge for breakfast and being careful not to over eat and walking a lot.
It’s waaaay to easy to eat too much! Self restraint is not everyone’s forte.

Today is a calm sea day, tomorrow we have an excursion to see Mykonos.

Kotor was just a fishing village with trade.
Their background is high mountainous rocks! So can’t farm anything. Just fish.

No fishing, no one working… everything quiet and still..except for heaps of tourists!
Only markets with souvenirs and restaurants open.
It would’ve been nice to see what their seafood menu was like.
4 hour excursion not enough time. That includes, tender boats, waking tour through streets and shops, maritime museum, and bus ride to and from village to catch boat to lady of the rock church.
Maybe Mykonos might be different. For $9 euro each we can catch water bus to and from Mykonos to ship. Ship leaves 2 am so there’s this big party happening there, maybe I might go, maybe not. Depends on my mood, or my aches and pains, or how sunburnt I will be  Grin

Huh you can say that again!
Reeling  them in by the scores.
But I wonder, how would these places survive without tourists?

Mykonos … one word….white!
Even the trees are painted white!  Grin

Our ship docks until 2 am… there’s a big party tonight…..this is what’s it’s famous for.
There’s two other big cruise ships in area also.

Beautiful night view of Mykonos from back of our ship.
We don’t set sail until 2 am
I hear this is such a party town.
And I’m in bed with PJs on watching about Iran and missiles in Israel. Undecided

We are at Santorini today. No news from officials here yet…

Santorini… 450-500 metres above sea level
Gosh… white and more white, even the trees are painted white!
But the steps! I must’ve burned off quite a few calories today! And it’s clear blue skies and quite a hot sun!
All I ever wanted was that one shot with the blue dome church, blue skies, and blue seas!
Yes I did get the shot but I loved this black cat that appeared in front of me so I took a pic of it as it was contrast against white!
For some reason I’m unable to post photos. Will try again soon.

We have Santorini By The Sea with great fish&chips shop between Port Kembla and Kiama in NSW. It isn't as spectacular as Greek one but have easier access for tourists.

I’m certain it’s just as good if not better!
Prices here are all in euro and our Aussie dollar worth crap, I’m not impressed. I’ve restrained from spending a lot, and that’s unusual for me. I know it’s only a once of visiting these places, but I’ve decided I have never appreciated our country more than ever!

So… photo opportunities were my forte… now here’s my reasoning… who on earth would look at this rock, a most inhospitable place to live or to access… and decide, to build white houses on top?
No rainfall… their water is desalinated from the sea, but not to drink… just water garden or to wash with.
They have to buy bottled water to drink.
Note: I can’t upload any photos, seems I’ve uploaded the maximum allowed upload - directory volume  Huh

Finally disembarked off ship, went to Venice airport… it’s a nightmare and signs not very user friendly.
We’ve landed in Dubai airport and signage is a dream here!
Next plane will go to Melbourne. Looking forward to hone turf!
