The Russian Federation has the largest forest area of all countries. From 2001 to 2021, Russia lost an average 3.8Mha /year.  Average forest biomass density is 84 tons/ ha in Russia .
Between 2001 and 2020, the Amazon lost an average 2.7 Mha /year with an average biomass of 174 tons/ha .
3.8 x 84         Russia  318m t.
2.7 x 174       Brazil 470 m t.
Then Russia is losing about 2/3 the Amazon loss of trees. (They both export about 2.3m t of timber which is negligible).
Russia's deforestation is not as sensational as the Amazon jungle being lost but the effect on CO2 gas is similar.

Those Russians - they can't be trusted.
