I stopped playing golf 15 years ago

It is just too time-consuming taking about 6 hours between leaving home and arriving back home. It just wasn't worth the effort.

After stopping playing on golf courses, the driving range seemed pointless and I stopped that too.

I did win the first club event I played in 48 years ago at age 29 when I had a handicap of 26 and a round of 85 (net 59) after being 1 under par after 4 holes. I birdied the first hole and had par on the next three. I was playing very carefully after having a disastrous round of 126 on the previous day on the same course.

I also had a hole-in-one 38 years ago on a long par three with a three wood and I was playing with a friend who witnessed the hole-in-one.

I also had a compliment from a golf course worker after I teed off at a course in the UK when he said he had never seen a man with rented clubs hit the ball so far after a long drive down the middle of a fairway. I had a 41 for 9 holes on that round.

The best I ever did was 85 for 18 holes and 41 for 9 holes.

Golf just became a means of using up spare time which seemed to be pointless.

Please don't thank me. Effusive fawning and obeisance of disciples, mendicants, and foot-kissers embarrass me.

Actually have an astroturf putting green in the yard. Haven't used it for 15 years.

I played Golf after I finished Rugby League. Got down to HC of 10.

3 Holes in ones. Never a good player.

Lot of fun for about a 12 years, few years of the club board. Lost interest when I moved.

Can barely hit the ball now.

When I was young I played left handed if I hired clubs and right handed if I could use my cousins clubs.

I first broke 100 playing left handed and 2 weeks later broke 100 playing right handed.

I should suggest that for my parents to install. Or I could install one in my back yard. In fact, I could probably go golfing in my yard.

How do they measure handicaps? Do golf officials smack the players in the face, and find out how long it takes for the chin fat to stop wobbling?

Fore! Just checking USR's cranium for echos.

The inside of USR's cranium has more clear space than USR's backyard. Nothing in USR's cranium would be damaged by large divots.

Well, it feels like that for quite a while.

Probably got more hard drive space, now.

I gave up archery for the same reason ... I had to give up every Sunday morning to shoot, usually I tried to be there at about 9 to help set up the range and didn't get back home until after 1pm. Once i had kids that just wasn't going to work for me anymore.

You silly Billy -

your handicap is how much you are over par on average for a round of golf.
