its unsurprising

if you read dan kennedys excellent marketing books, you would understand immediately that a higher price is part of the attraction

it signals to society that you are a rare person who can afford such a thing

rolexes dont keep time as well as an apple watch

and if you go to buy a rolex, they wont let you unless you can produce references saying that you are the sort of person who should have one.

its the exclusivity and scarcity  that creates  the value.

The Waitlists
It is nearly impossible to talk about buying a new Rolex watch without discussing the infamous waitlists that exist for many of the brand’s most iconic and popular models. Many of Rolex’s most famous timepieces – including all stainless-steel sports watches – are perpetually sold out at dealers around the globe, and most have multi-year waiting lists with no guarantee that you will ever receive a watch before the model gets discontinued entirely. It has been reported that waitlists for some of the brand’s top models like the stainless-steel and ceramic Daytona still exceed five years at some retail locations, even though the model has been available for several years now.

housing prices are very very interesting

most people , when they go to buy a car, have a budget
no one goes to the bank and sees what is the absolute maxiumum they can borrow and then goes to a car dealer and says i can borrow only this much. now show me your stock at my maximum price point.

consumers have , in a way done that with houses.

most people buy up to the maximum they can borrow.

and of course, vendors are happy to oblidge them by meeting them at that price point .

sure some of it is supply and demand, but some of it is just people not looking at "is this worth it'

I neither dislike nor like you. You are a joke. A fraud. You are irrelevant to me except for when I highlight your stupidity. That does make me laugh and laughter is good for ones soul.

Yes, there is a wait list, but no-one is required to provide a reference as you falsely asserted Mr Ed.

How do I know?

Cool

if you read dan kennedys excellent book you would understand the
buyer seller dynamic

rolex and many many successful businesses flip this dynamic and it is one of the secrets to making cash

rolex have stopped being the seller and instead are the buyer

in a consumer society, this puts the power back in the hands of rolex.

no longer desperate for a sale, they actually intimidate the customer and make the customer do the sales pitch to see if the customer is 'worthy' of their watch

and yes, they are sizing up the customer, making the customer qualify himself , all of which makes the "forbidden fruit" even more desirable

when you make the consumer "chase" you can make what you are selling insanely valuable

if we look at perhaps the richest man in the UK in 1524, Henry the 8th, anne boleyn knew how to flip the buyer seller dynamic

though fairly plain, she put an insane price on herself (divorce the queen and marry me before you get to sleep with me).
and henry was willing to demolish his kingdom because he convinced himself he wanted this "scarce resource".  He was so used to having any woman that when she demanded he qualify himself, he just had to do it.

the comsuner likewise is so used to being begged to buy something that when a marketer refuses to sell them a product, they suddenly have to have it .
if you can get the customer chasing, then you are going to make lots of cash

you, smith are unteachable and will always be a loser

aussie as well

but someone out there might put down their tik tok and go read dan kennedys book and change their life.

unlikely because most losers have incredible success barriers and will never do it

i know for sure you and aussie wont  Grin Grin Grin

Listen dumbarse,  we weren't discussing the buyer/seller dynamic. We were discussing your claim that rolex vets it's customers and only sells to those it qualifies.

But no surprise that you are trying to change the topic  Grin Grin Grin
