buyer seller dynamic

rolex and many many successful businesses flip this dynamic and it is one of the secrets to making cash

rolex have stopped being the seller and instead are the buyer

in a consumer society, this puts the power back in the hands of rolex.

no longer desperate for a sale, they actually intimidate the customer and make the customer do the sales pitch to see if the customer is 'worthy' of their watch

and yes, they are sizing up the customer, making the customer qualify himself , all of which makes the "forbidden fruit" even more desirable

when you make the consumer "chase" you can make what you are selling insanely valuable

if we look at perhaps the richest man in the UK in 1524, Henry the 8th, anne boleyn knew how to flip the buyer seller dynamic

though fairly plain, she put an insane price on herself (divorce the queen and marry me before you get to sleep with me).
and henry was willing to demolish his kingdom because he convinced himself he wanted this "scarce resource".  He was so used to having any woman that when she demanded he qualify himself, he just had to do it.


the comsuner likewise is so used to being begged to buy something that when a marketer refuses to sell them a product, they suddenly have to have it .
if you can get the customer chasing, then you are going to make lots of cash
