He made this bed....he is bloody lucky the US have agreed to let him go without facing the full force of their Law.

This sets a very bad precedent...behave for years like a prima donna/diva cock head, thumb your nose at the Law, breach bail, and ultimately, and let's say it...because of political and expediency considerations, you'll escape facing the Law as you should.

You watch, when he gets to Australia, he will play/milk this for every cent he can get from a willing media, hungry for any story, no matter what.

The truth is, the bastard should have gone to the USA, faced the Law, made the arguments you have mentioned and more, and then I may have had some sympathy for him.
